Cap d agde
This is a French holiday spot, we stayed here in 2022 and loved it. It is a beach resort with bars, restaurants, shops all handy. For us Brits it’s touristy but without the Brit abroad feel (we didn’t see a single British pub or full English advertised)
It is around 25mins to wedding venue, 15mins from Beziers airport with the city of Beziers and Agde close by. There is a local bus service to Agde every hour where there is a train station with trains to Beziers and Carcassonne. So no need to hire a car if you really don’t want to.
Cap d’Agde is famous in France for its nudist beach so if you want to avoid this area (which is entirely possible as plenty other beaches there) then be aware not to book anything that has the word “naturiste” in it.
Montblanc 34290 occitanie
Montblanc is the village our venue is in. It is pretty small and quaint but does have a little shop with essentials, a highly recommended restaurant on trip advisor and a bus from Beziers which is around 20mins away by car.
Béziers
Béziers is a stunning city which doesn’t feel like a city. It is very historic and still very green. We stayed here in April 2023 and walked everywhere. There are lots of apartments on air bnb and hotels to choose from.
This is a city so has regular trains to other areas of France, has regular inner city buses as well as routes out to the beaches and smaller villages.
Surrounding Areas
Portiranges, Portiranges Plage, Vias and Vias Plage are all close to the airport, Beziers and venue. They are quieter areas than Cap d’Agde but still have local buses operating to the city.
