Q + A

Will the wedding be kid friendly?

Of course! We are going to have some kind of activities during the reception for kids to do, and they are welcome on the dance floor!

Can I bring a plus one?

We would love to have everyone come join in on our evening possible, but we have had to keep plus-ones limited to married couples and out of town guests that may not know any of our other guests due to venue space and budget. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out!

Should I bring a gift?

If you are traveling to the wedding, the only thing we ask for is that you come spend the day with us. If you feel like giving us a gift, we will be taking monetary gifts to help us save up for our future home, but we also know that many of you will be spending good money for the travels alone and also that times are just hard financially for a lot of people right now, and we understand that that is already a lot to ask of you, so there is no pressure at all for gifts.

What kind of food and drinks will be there?

If you have any specific dietary needs, please let us know upon RSVP! We are getting our catering through a local cafe / bakery in Carbondale. Cristaudos serves a variety of food ranging from typical sandwich fare to vegetarian and vegan options. We have chosen to keep the alcohol content of our reception light. We will have some white wine and beer for those that partake, and punch and water for those that are in recovery, don't drink, or have taken the role of Designated Driver! The drive home for many guests will be on unfamiliar, dark, winding country roads, so we ask that our guests be responsible and safe!

What is the parking situation at the venue?

There will be parking along the driveway and in front of the house. Staff will be onsite the day of with golf carts to take people from their cars to the ceremony site in the yard and to the reception barn if needed.

What is the dress code?

While we don't have a set dress code, we would like to see everyone take the opportunity to dress up as much as they would like! As long as you are there, that is all that matters to us, though! Mid-October in this area can be slightly chilly (think low 60's-50's), so come prepared for when the temps start dropping later in the day. There will be a large fireplace lit in the reception barn to keep everyone warm if needed!

When is the RSVP deadline?

We would prefer to have everyone's RSVP noted by September 13th. If anything changes one way or another with your RSVP after that date, please let us know!

What activities will be offered at the reception?

There will definitely be a dance floor! We will be playing music ranging from motown, punk, goth, indie, folk, and will be taking music requests upon RSVP! We also plan on having some outdoor games like bocce ball and cornhole, as well as table games for indoors for those that don't like to hit the dance floor.
