Our story began with an Instagram story. Mason replied to a song that I shared to my story. We talked about music for the first few days lol, but then I weirdly enough got the courage to asked him to go to my church youth group. If you know me, you know how shy I am! I was just expecting to ask and it never happen, but he came the following week. Before that, we met at school and walked around. This soon became our "walk and talks".

He showed up to youth! To say I was nervous that night was an understatement. I knew that night that I liked him a lot. His smile, his personality, just everything about him.

After almost a month of meeting at school every day and texting all night, Mason told me that he wanted to pursue a relationship with me. He asked that I would pray about us first. This was because we both knew he was enlisted into the Marine Corps, and he wanted me to be sure I was ready for that.

Mason asked me on our first date. We went and looked at Christmas lights, and ate Chick-fil-a. We were driving around a neighborhood, and he asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course, I said YES!!

I made my first trip to NC to see mason after a couple more months apart.
2020 was a year that we spent much of it apart. We had very few small moments, but we made them count!
July 31, 2020
I did not think Mason would get to be at my high school graduation because he was going into the field. But to my surprise, I turned around to find my family in the arena and there he sat. Mason was not actually in the field, instead he was on a plane to GA.
September 2020
A six-month deployment soon crept upon us. Mason was able to be home for several days, but they flew by too quickly. Another dreaded see you later came again. This time would be the longest we were apart yet. 6 months, a 13 hour time difference, and lots of lonely nights.
April 24, 2021
Our first time seeing each other again after 6 months! The best feeling ever, and we finally got to celebrate Christmas. Christmas in April.
