Our Wedding

When Mackenzie and her mom watched University of Mobile’s Christmas Spectacular, they joked that her future husband might be in the room. P.S. He was ;)

Miguel and Mackenzie shared a small class where they had the opportunity to talk a little more. He got her number in hopes that they could play music occasionally. 

The following week, Jestavia suggested he take her to “Fruity Pebbles.” He asked Mackenzie what her thought are on vandalism; to which she replied with something along the lines of, “That depends, do you mean destruction of property or art?” He picked her up that night;)

They spent the entire night talking. The conversation never lagged. Not once did things feel awkward or performative. They painted and talked until the sun came up. 

The following week felt like a lifetime in the best way. Music, art, and endless flirtation; the two were inseparable. 

Their first non-impromptu date was at Rock n Roll Sushi (the first of MANY sushi dates).

He met her family at the beach, and in the words of the Miniature Tigers, he asked, “Do you like or like like me?”

After many weeks of health related difficulties and triumphs, he asked her to be his girlfriend…a couple times…

Finally (while cheesy), she gave him a little bracelet when he walked her back to her dorm one night. She asked him if she had a boyfriend. And he said, “I don’t know, do I have a girlfriend?” 

They had their first official date as a couple  seeing Vengeance at the Crescent Theatre in Downtown Mobile.

Since then, God  has blessed them with an equally beautiful and thrilling journey filled with wondrous experiences and opportunities.

While in Ecuador, the local news stopped by to do a Women’s Day special with our bands. There was essentially a romantic slam poetry contest. Miguel won!

We chose it as our venue for a reason, it's gorgeous! Please take some time to explore the park.

This is a lovely donation-only nature trail and conservation center nearly connected to the venue. We 100% recommend checking it out!

Dauset Trails Nature Center

For the fans of the Netflix series, Stranger Things, Hawkins Indiana was filmed in Downtown Jackson! There are multiple landmarks worth the visit. We found this mural at Lucy Lu's!
