Mackenzie and Lukas' paths first crossed on a chilly fall night in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, on a beach in Pickering, Ontario.

At the time, Lukas was in the Canadian Army Reserves where some army friends convinced him to come out for a beach bonfire and drinks. Lukas was assured that it would just be "the boys" and so he wore his 'hanging out and drinking with the boys attire'.

As Lukas was walking up to the beach he realized there were some girls in attendance that he was not prepared for, however, he didn't know that one of those girls he would later become married to and have a kid with.

When Lukas met Mackenzie, he was charmed by Mackenzie's debate skills when she started talking politics and history to Lukas. It only took a couple drinks, a political debate, and a bonfire for the two to fall deeply in love with each other.

Mackenzie and Lukas started dating several months later and eventually, Lukas proposed to Mackenzie at the very same spot that they met.

They now have a beautiful baby girl named Grayson and are looking forward to celebrating the start of an incredible and exciting new chapter in their life with all their family and friends!
