Our Story

January 26th, 2017: They met thanks to best friends Casey Mayo & John Grierson on a regular Thursday afternoon having lunch in Ms. Hoch's class at Huntingtown High School. Kenzie was one of her favorite students so she'd unlock the door and let Kenzie and a few friends hangout while she went and enjoyed her own lunch.

February 4th, 2017: Brian asked Kenzie to be his girlfriend to which she responded Let me think about it... Surprise surprise she texted him later that night while at dinner with their friends with a simple text saying Yes leaving him to figure out what she meant. (He realized after a few minutes of trying to figure it out)

February 11th, 2017: They say I love you for the first time. After a night out with friends that ended with a lot of drama Kenzie and Brian were done with the day as a whole. While saying goodnight after the stressful night Brian ended it with I love you Kenzie to which she clearly responded with I love you too Brian.

The next few years go by with ups and downs and A LOT of happy memories.

December 2021: Brian decides he wants to propose. After going back and forth for about 2 months Brian decided he was 100% set on marrying Kenzie. During the holidays he asked Sarah Dillon (Kenzie's Mom) and Hector Morales (Kenzie's Dad) for their blessing and looped in his own parents (Matthew and Jennifer Davidson).

January 2022: Brian buys the ring. After having Sarah (Kenzie's Mom) trick Kenzie into designing & describing her dream engagement ring down to every last detail, Brian headed off to the jeweler to have it perfectly crafted just for her. The only person to see the ring before it was on Kenzie's finger was Brian's best friend and roommate Joseph Meador. As Joe puts it, it was the biggest, hardest, and best secret he has ever had to keep.

February 4th, 2022: For their 5 Year anniversary Kenzie and Brian set off to Charleston, SC for a 5 day getaway. Kenzie had planned out every day ahead of time with sites to see and different activities. A little ways before the trip Kenzie redesigned the whole plan so the two could do a private candle making & art class together for their anniversary, completely changing Brian's initial plan to propose. While on the trip Kenzie tried once again to change up the plan but Brian changed her mind by saying he wanted to take pictures at The Angel Oak Tree for their anniversary. Not knowing there was another reason Kenzie was happy to keep everything as planned. After their class the two headed out to see The Angel Oak Tree, a 65ft high, beautiful 300-400year old Oak Tree on Johns Island, just outside of Charleston. When they arrived Kenzie offered to take a picture for a lovely family who was visiting as well. Once they finished they offered to return the favor, while Kenzie walked toward the stunning tree Brian whispered to the gentleman to take a video because he was going to propose. They took a few pictures (or so Kenzie thought) and as she walked away she turned back to see Brian on one knee smiling ear to ear while holding a beautiful ring saying the words she thought were years away, Will you marry me? Kenzie in complete shock responded with Oh my God, You're not, trying her best to not cry in front of all of those people. The two laughed as Kenzie made her way back to him saying Yes of course I'll marry you as the crowd around them cheered and applauded.

February 3rd, 2024: We say I DO with all of YOU!!!

--------- This is Going to be Good---------

Brian said those words to me at the very start of our relationship back when we barely knew each other and had no idea what the future would hold for us. At the time those words were filled with hope for the future and damn was he right. We were 16 (almost 17) when we started dating. Everyone always said it was just a high school relationship and it would never go anywhere real. Even now some people see us as too young or say that we don't know what were doing but after spending the last 6 (7 by the time were married) years together we can whole heartedly say they’re wrong. We're not perfect by any means but the love we share for each other grows every day and can overcome anything that life throws at us. We may have started out as two high school kids who didn't know where they were going or what their future was going to look like but we have grown and changed together into the people we are today. We have survived losses, hard times, illness, and so many joyful moments together, always coming out stronger in the end and this is only the beginning. This has been and will forever be our favorite adventure because it's the one we share together and it will only get better.
