Like any other girls trip, MacKenzie made a weekend trip to Texas A&M University in July of 2019 to visit her close friend Maddi (now Maid of Honor!). MacKenzie and Maddi decided that weekend they would go out dancing at a local dancehall named Hurricane Harrys. They got dressed up and met up with some of their other friends out at Harrys. Little did Austin or MacKenzie know, that July night would end up being the best day of both of their lives.


After several dances and drinks, the girls were relaxing in a booth figuring out plans for the rest of the evening. This is when a quiet, almost 19 year old named Austin came up and asked MacKenzie to dance. They danced and were smitten with one another instantly.


Fast forward throughout the summer, MacKenzie continued to make several trips down to A&M to visit friends and Austin on the weekends when he was home from working. The two continued to get to know one another and felt the connection growing. The two became an official couple on August 30, 2019!


There was one issue though, MacKenzie did not attend Texas A&M University, she was a student at Texas State University, which is 2 hours away from College Station. The couple did not know how a (semi) long distance relationship would work. Both Austin and MacKenzie had jobs and other responsibilities where they lived, but as they say, true love prevails (corny we know). The couple would alternate weekends on traveling to see one another and could not wait until those Friday evenings rolled around and one would be pulling into the others driveway!


Since then, Austin and MacKenzie have accomplished many things together!
This includes getting their beloved dog Miller, who has gained the love of so many of their friends and family.
Surviving COVID while MacKenzie graduated from Texas State University in May of 2020.
Moving in together in a tiny little apartment of August of 2021.
Austin graduating from Texas A&M University in December of 2022.
Moving into a house in the summer of 2023, of course only to give Miller the backyard he deserves!


On a very cold and windy day in January of 2024, Austin took MacKenzie out to brunch at the Stella Hotel and Lake walk, where he would then ask her to spend their lives together forever. She ugly cried and said yes with what little words she could get out. The couple then celebrated with their friends and family who helped support them throughout all these years.


Of course Austin and MacKenzie took their engagement photos at the place where it all began, Hurricane Harrys! That booth will forever hold a special place in their heart.


We cant wait to celebrate our most special day with all those dear to us!
