Will and Mackenzie met in college at Oklahoma State University in 2021. In fact, the first time Will and Mackenzie met, he proposed... with a children's shoe... in Walmart. Will and Mackenzie were partnered together as small group leaders in OSU's President's Leadership Council, whose main mission is to inspire and teach ethical leadership principles to incoming freshmen in small family groups. PLC always has their co-facilitators introduced in a mysterious/scavenger hunt style, and so their first ever photo together is Will proposing to Mackenzie in the Stillwater Walmart, with a Jojo Siwa's children shoe. Will and Mackenzie were the "Mom" and "Dad" of their group. Without being partnered together, they might not have ever met, but someone that went to OSU and was in charge of PLC will always be able to brag that they set us up.

After being paired in a small group together for some time (2 months really), Mackenzie had a pretty good idea Will was the cutest thing she'd ever seen. In fact, her feelings for him were so platonic that she had saved his contact in her phone as "Husband". Totally just friends, right? Through much trial and tribulation of a "will they won't they" courtship (where all of Mackenzie's bridesmaids collectively knew Will and Mackenzie were DUMB), they eventually started dating in January of 2022. After driving to a French restaurant, an hour and a half away from Stillwater, on a Saturday, just by themselves... totally platonic, right?

After both graduated from OSU, Will and Mackenzie relocated to Tulsa, OK. Will is a Civil Engineer for Garver, and Mackenzie teaches History at Jenks High School. They share the best cat in existence Beauregard, who they love dearly. Additionally, Will and Mackenzie purchased their first home in Kellyville, OK in February of 2025 (you REALLY shouldn't ask how renovations are going).

After their marriage in June, the happy newlyweds look forward to taking their honeymoon in Europe!
