I first met Dan in Bend, OR the night before my dad's wedding in June 2021. I still remember Dan was wearing Crocs the first time I met him. For the backstory, my dad Stu kept telling me there was a probie at the fire station he wanted me to meet. He said he thought it could just be someone fun to dance with at his wedding. I kept insisting that it was a setup, but he denied it. So here we are, a few years later, and of course, he wants to take all the credit for introducing us. Nonetheless, I have found my person, and could not ask for a better life partner.

The first time I was told about MacKenzie was when I was at work. My lieutenant invited me to his wedding saying his daughter needed a dance partner. He showed me a picture and it was clear she was way out of my league. I remember being so nervous I wasn't able to even approach her. Being the person she is, she came up to me. Look at us now! I'm the trophy husband!
