Our Wedding

We met at the Navigators Summer Training Program (STP) after our freshman year of college. Over the course of the three-week trip, we gradually got to know each other and found ourselves drawn to one another. By the middle of the program, we were spending more and more time together, sitting next to each other at every meal and every Nav Night, talking and laughing through it all. On the final night of STP, Micah asked if we could officially start dating and of course, Kenzie said yes! That special moment on June 2nd, 2023, marked the beginning of our journey together.

How We Met

During STP, we spent time intentionally getting to know each other while asking the foundational questions, sharing our testimonies, and building a friendship rooted in faith. Not long after, we stepped into a long-distance relationship and started FaceTiming often to continue learning about one another and growing closer. Our first official date was the weekend of June 23–25, 2023. We went to Ziano’s, an Italian restaurant in Fort Wayne that quickly became one of our favorites. That weekend was full of simple joys — swimming, movie nights, and baking together — and it marked the beginning of something really special.

Our First Date

We are both followers of Jesus, and our relationship is built on the foundation of His perfect love. From the beginning, we’ve taken time in prayer and intentional communication to grow a deep, lasting love for one another. One that continues to grow stronger with each passing day. We share a passion for adventure and love exploring the world together, whether it’s something big or something simple. More than anything, we just truly enjoy being together no matter what we’re doing.

Falling in Love

We had planned a trip up to Angola to attend a "young adults event" at the camp where Micah spent his childhood. Since it had been a little while since we’d seen each other, we decided to dress up for the event and planned to arrive an hour early to have a small “picnic” date by the lake. When we arrived at the camp, we pulled up near the lake, and Micah suggested we scout out a spot for our picnic before unloading everything especially since there was a little bit of rain. As we walked out into the grassy field behind the lake, I saw a perfectly set up picnic already waiting for us. In that moment, I immediately knew what was happening. I was in shock and so beyond excited. After the engagement, we celebrated with some ice cream, and then headed home, where Micah’s parents greeted us with congratulations. But the surprises weren’t over!! My parents suddenly came out from around the corner and completely shocked me. And just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, my brother and sister-in-law (who live in Florida) popped out to surprise me too. It was such a beautiful, joy filled day that we'll never forget!

The Proposal

Wedding planning has been such an exciting journey, though it definitely comes with its challenges especially as we prepare to head back to Ball State and juggle busy schedules. Still, we’re so looking forward to the next chapter of life together. We can’t wait to travel, create a space that feels like home, and share it with friends whenever we can. Staying connected with those we love is really important to us, and we hope to keep building strong relationships even after college. One thing we’re especially excited about is finding a new church home, a place where we can grow in our faith and build community together in this new season.

Sarah is Kenzie's sister in law and has been in her life for about 7 years now. She is so funny and loves those around her in so many ways. She is always laughing at something and her laugh is so contagious. Sarah is someone who will always have your back and loves those who are close to her deeply. Sarah loves adventure just as much as Kenzie which makes for a good time together! She's always given Kenzie the best advice and has led her back to the Gods truth. She is the best sister Kenzie could every ask for!!

Hannah is a friend Kenzie met at Ball State that loves the Lord with her whole entire heart. She is such a sweet friend who Kenzie knows will always be there for a good laugh. She's so easy to talk to and makes friends quickly! She is beyond loving and kind and is one of the most selfless people Kenzie has met.

Bella is a friend Kenzie has had in college since freshman year. She is such a sweetheart and loves the Lord with all her heart. Bella has such a sweet soul and she loves giving her time to you! Kenzie knows that Bella is a friend that will always stay by her side through anything. Bella also loves photography and nature!

Annika and Kenzie met sophomore year in college through the Bible study Kenzie was leading and have been roommates for the past year and a half. Annika is a beautiful young woman of God who holds so much knowledge. She is kind and so true in our friendship. She is also artistic, creative, and has a big heart for dogs!

Annie is a friend that Kenzie met at STP (Navigators Summer Training Program) after her sophomore of college. She is such a gentle person and is the best listener! Annie is such a genuine person and loves to read and explore the world that God has placed her in!

Allison and Kenzie became close friends this past year at Ball State through the Navigators and she's a ball of energy. She's honest, yet kind and so beyond supportive. She loves others well and feels deeply showing that Jesus is working through her everyday.

Micah met Aidan Joseph in 6th grade. AJ was often regarded as Shaquille O’Neal in middle school, since he was 6’3” and 200 pounds in 6th grade. Throughout high school the two grew closer and closer. They eventually decided to go to Ball State together and became brothers during their 4 years there. AJ has been the most important person in Micah’s life for the past 10 years. 

AJ Bane

Micah met Evan out of the womb (he’s the oldest brother). Micah and Evan were often regarded as identical twins and grew up playing soccer together. Evan’s been an inspirational figure in Micah’s life growing up, and always learning from him. 

Evan Hess

Mason met Micah out of the womb (he’s the youngest brother). Mason was always little too small to play with the older bros, but he grew up to be a fine young man. Today, Mason beats Evan and Micah in 1 on 1 basketball with ease, proving his relentlessness growing up. His maturity gives guidance to Micah, even as a younger brother.

Micah met 4’2” Braden all the way back in 6th grade. The two played soccer together growing up and shared many fond memories. Although Braden was always slightly taller than Micah growing up, it was short lived. Today, Micah towers 3 inches over him. But Braden has always provided great guidance and support to Micah along their journey despite his short stature.

Colton and Micah knew each other before the Berlin Wall came tumbling down. They grew up as any novel would begin, with two young friends going on adventures and experiencing unforgettable moments. Micah and Colton have encountered innumerable life lessons together and still counting.

Micah met Joel at a little event called STP (super tall party). At this 3 week long trip, their love ( i.. i mean friendship) became an unbreakable friendship. Joel has been there throughout all of Micah’s college life and has been an irreplaceable cornerstone in Micah’s faith.

We’re aiming for a bright, summery garden look with lots of floral inspiration. For the color palette, we’d love for guests to choose from shades of green, blue, pink, yellow, and orange. Both women and men are welcome to wear floral patterns as long as they fit within the color scheme. For gentlemen planning to wear suits, we encourage lighter colors. Men, if you aren’t wearing a suit please wear light colored trousers such as cream, tan, or light khaki. Below, you’ll find examples of the colors to help guide your outfit choices.
