Mackenzie and Josh’s love story began in accordance with how oh so many prospective lovers around the globe met during the Apocalyptic Days of COVID-19 - the beloved Hinge dating app! Fast forward several months, a Harry & Izzy’s liquid courage-inspired date when Josh finally had the courage to ask Mackenzie to be his girlfriend - and now years later, THEY ARE GETTING MARRIED! Mackenzie and Josh eventually moved into a house together in beautiful Noblesville, IN, and quickly decided to add a golden retriever fur baby to the family by the name of Knoxx Hart. Quick to realize that Knoxx obviously needed a best friend and sister, the following year they brought home a second golden retriever fur baby by the name of Winnie Hart. Catch these two fur balls going on walks with their new parents or hitting the pool for cannon ball time! During their free time, Mackenzie and Josh love going to Colts games, as they are die hard #ForTheShoe Fans, taking tropical vacation trips to the Caribbean, bike riding around Hamilton County, cooking food on the Big Green Egg during summer evenings, or squeezing in a quick 18 holes at a local golf course.
This past November, while having a picnic at the Brown County State Park, Josh bent the knee and proposed to Mackenzie. Josh went to the State Park the week prior by himself in secret to scout out the most picturesque location to pop THE question. He coordinated and planned with one of his best friends from high school and his wife, who are both photographers, to be hidden in the tree line behind them as they secretly captured the moment. It was truly special to have close friends in on the action! TRUE STORY, as the time set to propose was only minutes away, Josh cut his hand with a charcuterie board cheese knife by accident. Bleeding profusely and with zero spare ban-aids on him at that particular moment, Josh sprinted to his car to searched a first aid-kit. Panicked, with no first-aid in the car and time quickly ticking, he grabbed the nearest thing he could that would stop the bleeding - a dirty white tube sock that was laying in his car from a previous workout he completed earlier that day. He bow-tied wrapped his hand with it, sprinted back, half-baseball slid in front of Mackenzie, got up and positioned Mackenzie so that she was on the side where his right blood-stained sock-wrapped hand wouldn’t be in the shot, got back down on one knee, caught his breath, and PROPOSED. Although he did have some trouble opening up the ring box with one operable hand at that exact moment, but that was okay, Mackenzie helped him open it! To this day, the ring box still has Josh’s blood stain on it but the ring is ever so shiny and Josh’s hand is okay! It was truly a “photo finish”!
