There are two versions to this story, Zach says it started earlier than when Kenzie believes it did.

Zach was working for the Village of Grafton during the summer of 2018 cutting a tree down at Wildwood park. He saw Kenzie playing basketball with the two kids she was nannying for the summer. He told his coworker that he needed to see if she left on a bike or in a car to try and figure out how old she was. She left on a bike and he quickly gave up on that. Later that day though...

Now is where the stories truly align. Both Kenzie and Zach were in high school sports. When Zach was leaving the trainer there was someone blocking his car getting ready for practice. As I am sure you guessed, it was Kenzie. They exchanged nothing else but a simple hello. Until one night Kenzie was having a girls night and was dared to add Zach on snapchat and start a conversation with him.

The two of them hit it off immediately and it ultimately led them to setting up their first date, walking around Lion's Den Nature Preserve and then hammocking at Lime Kiln. The connection over the phone was nothing compared to the instant connection of being together.

Kenzie and Zach went back to their first date spot on January 1st, 2023 with their dog Roni. Kenzie just thought that they were going to show Roni where her dad and mom first fell in love, but she was completely surprised. Zach told Kenzie that he bought Roni a new bandana and Kenzie was very curious as to what he was talking about because he had no time to even go to the store without her to get it. Zach puts the bandana on Roni and lets Kenzie read it while he gets down on one knee and pulls out a ring box. Kenzie, obviously, starts crying and doesn't even let Zach finish his speech before she's screaming yes!

From then on, as you've figured out, it's been nothing short of happily ever after!
