MacKenzie and Jace met in 2012 at nine and twelve years old in Yuma, Arizona. They were introduced by mutual neighborhood friends and spent time riding bikes around the neighborhood, swimming, and doing tricks on the trampoline at MacKenzie's parents' home. Jace and MacKenzie remained good friends until 2016 when the two started dating. At this time, Jace and his family had moved about 4 hours away from Yuma to Prescott, Arizona. Jace and MacKenzie stayed in a long-distance relationship until 2017 when Jace moved back to Yuma by himself at the age of 17. The couple had their ups and downs and eventually took a 9-month "break" in 2019. In April 2020, the two rekindled their love, yet again from a long distance. Jace had just graduated from AIT in the U.S. Army, and MacKenzie was in her junior year of high school. Yet, they still managed to make time for each other. MacKenzie visited Kansas, where Jace was stationed, and Jace visited home. In May 2021, MacKenzie graduated high school and moved to Michigan for college while Jace remained in Kansas. They continued long distance until March 2023, when Jace was honorably discharged from the US Army. Jace and MacKenzie then moved into their first apartment together, and the rest is history.
