Would you believe us if we told you our story started with a text? On April 4, 2014, the oh-so-romantic 15 year old Ryan sent Kenzie a text that read “I like you and you like me, wanna be my girlfriend, maybe? :)” And the rest was history!


When we are asked how we met, we’re never sure where to start. It most likely was in fourth grade when our elementary schools combined and we were in the same class. Although, that encounter had a rocky start when Kenzie got Ryan’s name wrong, and he did not take very kindly to being called Sam (no offense to anyone named Sam). But the start of our friendship was when we sat next to each other in ninth grade history class. Remember when we said the rest was history? It truly was!


Wilmington Area High School holds so many memories: football and soccer games under the stadium lights, homecoming and prom dances, chemistry tests that made us sick. We watched each other learn to drive a car and get our driver’s licenses. Ryan bought his first truck and we named her Bertha. Many miles were added to Bertha’s odometer during the countless trips between New Bedford and Volant.


We graduated high school in 2017. Kenzie attended Westminster College in our hometown. Ryan pursued Fire Investigation at Eastern Kentucky University. We knew long distance would be challenging, but we also knew it would be worth it.


Kenzie graduated from Westminster College with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in May 2021. Ryan graduated from EKU with a Bachelor of Science in Fire, Arson, and Explosion Investigation along with a dual degree and two minors in December 2021.


In 2022, we moved into our first apartment together back where it all started, in New Wilmington, and we adopted our cat named Zeus.


On October 9, 2022, Ryan proposed at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Youngstown, OH.


We bought our first house in November of 2023 and we are so excited to make it our home :)


We would not be where we are today without all of our family and friends. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in June!
