Mackenzie has known of Addison since 2021 when she attended GWC with her sister and brother-in-law. She only saw him a handful of times on stage, they never spoke & he never knew she existed. Fast forward 3 years on February 20, 2024, Mackenzie was at her house in Greenville watching a sermon by a church in Dallas, TX when the Lord put Addison Johnson's name on her heart. She thought it was odd and random, but she began praying about it. After a couple weeks, she told her best friends she felt like she should reach out to him. Her friends thought she was crazy, but she knew what the Lord was telling her to do. After praying over this decision for a few weeks, Mackenzie reached out to Addison via Instagram on March 14. They talked the remainder of the night until Addison stopped responding...for 3 weeks. THREE WEEKS! Mackenzie was confused...and a little impatient. Meanwhile, Addison's being his calm, cool, and collected self with not a worry in the world. Mackenzie later realized that Addison was spending those weeks in prayer over whether or not this was something he should pursue. Mackenzie spent time in prayer before reaching out to him, it was only fair and appropriate that he did the same.
Fast forward a few more weeks, they began talking on social media again, exchanged numbers, and went on their first date May 7. They both knew from the beginning they were supposed to be together. Addison has been silly and goofy since the day they met, making Mackenzie realize she never wanted to face another day without him. They began dating on May 26th and have been inseparable ever since. She put her house in Greenville on the market a month later when the Lord called her back home to Pikeville. They got engaged on November 27th surrounded by family and friends, after 6 sweet months of dating.
Addison and Mackenzie's story is unique, but God-filled. They look forward to continue glorifying the Lord through marriage, and yielding to wherever and whatever He calls them to.
