The Kestner hoedown.I had met Duncan once before through our friend Allie, and was a bit giddy when we started to dance and get to know each other.Duncan didn’t own cowboy boots, but i gave him a shot anyways.This pic was taken by him when we all went to waffle house at the end of the night.

I knew that I wanted to see Macy again, so I gave Allie Proffer a call and said “Help me get within close proximity of Macy Gary.” She invited me to the halloween function. “I’m in.” I said to myself. I threw together a banging farmer costume only to have Allie give me a call and say “function is canceled, sorry.” I then in my supreme intellect said, “Invite Macy and your friends to my house to make up for the cancellation. Make sure to wear your halloween costumes.” The picture is evidence that I am a man of my word and Macy and her friends were too lame to wear a costume. But Macy showed up so thats all that matters. After a long night of We’re Not Really Strangers, I saw how much her friends genuinely hyped her up. Eventually, I caught an invite I couldn’t refuse, Chicken Finger Friday. I went to bed that night knowing more about her, but I wanted more. So CFF was my next step.

At CFF (lunch at Kappa), the whole table of my friends just HAPPENED to clear out when i sat next to him (my friends plotted this). We talked alone for a couple hours. 2 days later, he texted me he “had something for me” and asked when he could bring it. I had to wait another 2 days to figure out that it was him standing on the Kappa porch with flowers. He asked me on a date. I blacked out.

Our first date. In the most humble way possible, this is the best first date in first date history. I ate, no crumbs. Let me tell you about it. We went back to the Kestner barn (sentimental), we ate shrimp pasta that I made from scratch (Gordon Ramsey), sat by a fire that I made (Bear Grylls), and talked for 5 hours by going through popsicle sticks with questions I had written on. And as much as I did to make this date awesome, it was perfect because it was with her. Conversation was so easy and neither of us wanted the night to end. The cherry on top was getting to hold her hand the entire drive home. And when I pulled the secret popsicle stick from my pocket that said “Can I take you on a second date.” You already know what the answer was.

The first date of my DREAMS. I came home and immediately told my friends “I’m gonna marry him”—jokingly, but also seriously. 

Our second date! He took me to several coffee shops in fayetteville to try all the hot chocolates. We ranked them & decided summer moon was the best— and that’s where this pic was taken!

Game day. The day I made it official. We went to Feed & Folly and walked through the Christmas lights in the Fayetteville square. I didn’t want to be at dinner long because I planned to ask her to make it official at the square. I also proceeded to ask her every question known to man. I finished my food in 10min and got to learn more about the spiritual gift of patience as it took FOREVER for her to finish eating. When we finally got to the square and I asked if she would be my girlfriend she said, “Can you sit down for a second?” My life flashed before my eyes. I second guessed every decision I had made up to that point. After a conversation about the purpose of dating and what my intentions were, we got back in my car a couple.

The two people in this photo are not the same people from the photo before. Hey, Duncan here, these two went through a lot to get here. Through a season of prayer, learning, some spiritual warfare, and comfort from God, I became the man that God wanted me to be. I learned a lot in this season, but the greatest thing I learned was that I love Macy Gary and I want to spend the rest of my life with her.

So, after an incredible summer full of concerts, weddings, and a whole lot of prayer about the future— I happily awaited a proposal I thought would be in late October

Then, in September, He proposed right where it all began— back at the Kestner barn! Easiest yes ever! I love him!

Is this an indoor or outdoor wedding?

The ceremony &amp; reception will be indoors! However, the cocktail hour will be outside on a patio during the room flip.

What is the attire?

The dress code is garden formal! For the girls:Please wear long dresses in any color (except white, of course). Florals, solids, ruffles, or any fun textures are welcome.If you're needing more inspo, click <a href="https://pin.it/35SNYGZJ6" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a> for some ideas! For the guys:Please wear a suit. Ties are optional, but encouraged!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin at 5:30, so we ask that guests arrive at the venue by 5:10.

Can I bring a date?

Unfortunately, unless a plus-one is indicated in your invitation, we are unable to accommodate additional guests.

Are kids welcome?

We kindly request that children not be brought to the celebration unless indicated on the invitation.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

We kindly ask you to refrain from taking any photos or videos during the ceremony. We have hired a photographer and videographer to capture these moments on our special day. Thank you for understanding and feel free to take pictures after!
