Zach and Macy owe their story to one of Zach’s instructors at State Tech, Christian Record. At the time Christian was dating, and is now married to, Macy’s sister Abigail. He mentioned to Zach that he thought he and Macy would hit it off and introduced them at a get-together in a friend's basement on January 23rd, 2021. Zach asked for Macy’s Snapchat at the end of the night and, despite witnessing his and his friend’s awkward dancing, she gave it to him. It was Macy who made the first move after that, sending Zach a Snapchat the next day and you could say the rest is history…..

….but I won’t stop there because I think you’ll want to hear about their first date. Zach traveled from Linn to Owensville to pick Macy up for their first date on January 31st. If you know anything about Zach, you know his vehicles are always malfunctioning so it’s no surprise that his truck was making a terrible, awful noise. In classic Zach fashion, he told Macy to ignore it but she could tell he was panicking. They were heading to Rolla to go to Buffalo Wild Wings and on the way home had to pull over at a gas station to try and fix his truck. Macy stood with him outside in the 30-degree weather for an hour and a half while he tried to fix his truck. They even had to call his friend Chase Cole, who lived in Rolla, for help. Afterward, Macy could tell Zach was frustrated so she told him his hand looked cold and asked if she could help warm them up. She took his hand and held it, hoping it would make him feel better.

Since that first date, they’ve enjoyed many country concerts, car cruises, and dinners with family together. They’ve gone on trips together, survived being long distance, and supported each other’s dreams along the way wherever it took them. A friend once wisely said Zach and Macy were perfect for each other because they make each other more themselves.

Shortly after their second anniversary, Zach planned to propose to Macy with her favorite meal of chicken strips and mac and cheese at a cabin on his family’s property. However, he was too excited to wait for dinner and proposed the minute they walked in the door. Macy said yes, after confirming he wasn’t joking, and that brings the story here, to their upcoming wedding.
