Our story begins on a tiny university campus in northern Indiana, where a freshman and junior crossed paths their very first week of college. One an athletic computer science major from El Salvador with a heart of gold who would make Maddy laugh so hard she cried and water came out her nose (just once...), and the other a Midwesterner with the sweetest soul and brightest smile you'd ever seen who sought to make everyone feel welcome (especially cute boys from Sivar).

From their very first meeting (3 days into freshman orientation week), they forged a fast friendship, bonding over late-night study sessions, shared meals, and literally countless laughs. Together they supported each other through the ups and downs, the knowns and unknowns of the first year of college. They were inseparable as friends; study buddies, gym partners, Spanish/English tutors, but they also sensed that there was something deeper under the surface.

Knowing that timing was everything, they continued to nourish and cherish their friendship until finally the stars aligned and their hearts did as well, and then everything fell into place in such a perfect way that it would be impossible to give credit to anyone besides the Lord.

Now, as they prepare to say "I do," they look back at their journey with immense gratitude. Each twist and turn has led them to this beautiful moment, and they can't wait to continue writing their story together - one filled with love, laughter, and adventure across the miles from El Salvador to the US and beyond.
