Things to Do

Welcome to Dallas Texas, friends!

With so many of you flying from out of state to join us this weekend Maddie and I wanted to bring you into our neighborhood and get a real feel of the city of Dallas.

There are countless ways to spend your Friday night and Saturday morning but we’d like to offer up some of our favorites that we’ve enjoyed since moving here 3 years ago.

David’s Favorites

Katy Ice House

IYKYK… the Ice House is approximately 0.2 miles from the hotel you are staying at. Described as an “Austin style beer garden and restaurant, located in the heart of uptown Dallas” Ice House is a local favorite that you’ve got to try once.

Chelseas Corner (2 miles from hotel)

My favorite spot for Game Days. Great for day drinking or brunch

The Rustic (1.3 miles from hotel)

If you’re looking for a brunch spot for 4 or 5 people this is the spot - you might even get to catch some live music from local artists.

Javier’s Gourmet Mexicano (3 miles from the hotel)

Javier’s is a Dallas staple for its authentic Mexican food as well as their infamous cigar lounge. Attire is business casual, and make sure you try a Tequila Espresso Martini or their house margarita if you go.

Depending on what time you’re coming in Friday, Javier’s would make for a great dinner option.

Pecan Lodge & Terry Black’s barbecue (both 2 miles from hotel)

You’re in Texas, and the BBQ has a reputation to live up to. Located in Deep Ellum you will have plenty of day drinking spots and shops to walk to off the calories.
