Sanaya and Maddie met all the way back in the good old hallways of Glen Crest Middle School. They experienced the highs and lows of high school together through AP tests, prom, boy problems and their daily post-class Dunkin’ runs of course. Even though they stayed close post-graduation, fate decided to bring them back together full force when Maddie transferred to the University of Illinois her junior year and was able to be roommates with Sanaya through the rest of her time in school. Maddie and Sanaya have been partners in crime ever since – Brothers T-shirt Thursdays, Wingstop & movie nights, late night study sessions in the living room blasting EDM and talking until the sun comes up being a few of the memories they will cherish forever. They’ve carried almost 14 years of memories into their adult lives in Chicago with monthly food explorations, festivals and milestone moments. Sanaya remembers when Maddie introduced Jacob to her for the first time and had a gut feeling that this guy was going to be the one for her best friend just by seeing the way that they looked at each other. Sanaya can’t wait to celebrate Maddie and Jacob and see them celebrate all of life’s beautiful moments that are awaiting them in the future. Cheers to the amazing couple!

Sam Hasiewicz is Maddie's first friend. Growing up only 16 months apart, the two are essentially twins. Maddie paved the way and Sam followed in her footsteps. They were best friends and enemies. They spent all their time playing together and creating different worlds that they lived in. The two were thick as thieves. Whether it was Maddie making Sam watch her play computer games for hours or Maddie forcing Sam to always play the boy character when re-enacting their favorite TV shows, the two always had a typical big-sister/little-sister relationship. Sam remembers going from being embarrassed seeing her big sister in the hallways at Glen Crest Middle School to being excited to hang out and go to dances together at Glenbard South. When Maddie went off to college at the University of Illinois, Sam drove down to see her as much as she could, and Maddie watched Sam perform in her Mock Trial competitions at North Central College. After college, Sam moved to San Diego for law school. She now works her dream job as a public defender at the San Diego Public Defender's Office, advocating for the most forgotten members of her community and protecting their rights. Maddie and Jacob visit Sam in California as often as they can and spend their time adventuring around San Diego. Sam cannot wait for the two to buy a second home and be with her for longer. Sam is so happy to have another best friend in her life, and no one is more perfect for her day one than Jacob.

Maddie is Ally’s big sister! Maddie had always been teaching Ally new things about life since they were both little. She has always inspired Ally to be the best possible version of herself. They love to go out to eat together! Maddie loves to show Ally the new restaurants and drinks she’s tried. Food and drinks are definitely the way to their hearts! They can sit for hours and just talk about everything and nothing. They have a special bond that could never be broken.

Erica is a registered nurse who is in school for a degree in nurse anesthesia. She recently moved back to Chicago from Cleveland and lives in Oak Park with her husband and fur-child. Erica met Maddie in childhood when their moms met in Bible babes and they became fast friends! Maddie is the best friend someone could ask for, from late night sleepovers to backyard parties, Erica and Maddie have shared so many memories through the years. Erica is absolutely ecstatic to be a part of this momentous occasion in Maddie and Jacob’s life and is honored to stand up with them on their wedding day!

Maddie and Sophia met at the University of Illinois and instantly became inseparable! As they were in three different clubs together, they were guaranteed to see each other multiple times a week, not including their scheduled Taco Bell visits with Jacob and Devin. After graduating college, Maddie and Sophia ended up working at the same firm. Working together on clients, but more importantly social events, their friendship grew even stronger. With over 5 years of friendship, they have made some amazing memories together, including multiple music festivals, Chicago fine dining experiences (shoutout to The Perch dinners), some (somewhat) successful crafting activities and many fun house parties / happy hours. Cheers to even more memories made celebrating Maddie and Jacob!

Shelby and Maddie met on a fateful elevator ride when they were both candidates for an internship in 2017. Spoiler alert: they both nailed the interview and have been friends ever since. In their five years working at the same firm, they’ve bonded over their amateur baking skills and mutual love of cats. The friendship was forever solidified when Shelby and Maddie adopted kittens from the same litter, making them cat-parents-in-law. Shelby cannot wait to celebrate Maddie and Jacob on their special day!

Steph and Maddie met at the University of Illinois in Champaign at a recruiting event for True Partners Consulting. Steph and Maddie then interned together at True Partners the summer after junior year of college. That summer, Steph and Maddie spent every weekend together eating and drinking their way through Chicago. Steph also may or may not have set up Maddie and Jacob that summer and their first kiss may or may not have been at Steph's birthday party! Steph and Maddie's friendship has continued to grow over the years, and their favorite activities to do together are to try new restaurants (especially Michelin-starred restaurants) and to spend a little too much time catching up in the office after not seeing each other for a while. Steph is so excited to celebrate Maddie and Jacob's special day with them!

Maddie and Agne met during their second year of college and have been inseparable partners-in-crime ever since. Although they went to different colleges later on, they were able to remain best friends due to their love for any kind of adventure. They love traveling to different parts of the country to dance to their favorite artists and experience all the exciting things the world has to offer together. So, it is only fitting that Agne stands beside Maddie as her bridesmaid for her next grand adventure called marriage.

Justin lives in Chicago and has known Jacob since he moved to Ashkum in the 3rd grade. Whether it be in high school at football/basketball after parties, at U of I in Champaign at Kams, or now in the city at Halligans, they are guilty for keeping the party going until the very end of the night. Justin is thrilled for Jacob and Maddie and can’t wait to celebrate their special day. (And he will make sure to keep the party going until the very end of the night.)

Jon is a Project Engineer with Power Construction, currently traveling the US to construct various types of buildings. He recently moved from Cincinnati, OH to Lebanon, IN for his next job. As the younger (and best) brother, Jon has always looked up to Jacob. They had your typical brotherly relationship growing up, and have become best friends through it all. Jon is honored to share this day as the Best Man.

Since Fall of 2015, Matt and Jacob have been great friends as they quickly bonded over the White Sox and Illinois sports. From Champaign to now Chicago, the bond has only gotten stronger. Matt cannot wait to stand beside Jacob as he marries the wonderful Maddie just as Jacob did the same for Matt last year. October 19, 2024 is going to be a party to remember!

Matt and Jacob have been friends since Jacob’s freshman year at U of I 10 years ago (yes, I just panicked realizing it’s already been 10 years). We’ve had a lot of great memories, but I’ll never forget hearing Jacob first mention Maddie…well the rest is history. Matt lives in Chicago after just recently moving back from a 2-year stint in Minneapolis and is fired up for this wedding!

Devin is an attorney who works for a law firm in downtown Chicago. Originally from downstate Illinois, he currently lives in the Old Town, Chicago area with his recent fiancé, Sophia. Devin first met Jacob in college at the University of Illinois. The two bonded over frequently being Maddie and Sophia’s plus one’s to different events. Their friendship was solidified with weekly trips to Taco Bell on Sunday afternoons. When Devin moved to Chicago, he and Jacob enjoyed getting together and working on their slices at the Diversey driving range. Devin is honored to stand up at Maddie and Jacob’s wedding and is looking forward to celebrating them!

Pat, originally from the great city of Cleveland, Ohio, moved to Chicago after graduation and met Jacob and Maddie through his fiancé, Loretta. Who would have thought that Jacob would become one of his closest friends. Fast forward 4 years later, and they’ve accomplished a lot: partying together in Las Vegas multiple times (recently on Pat’s bachelor party), making the pilgrimage to Taco Bell on Saturday nights, and usually being the last ones awake on the weekends (later than Justin). Pat is one of the luckiest guys on Earth to be a part of Jacob and Maddie’s special day.

Blake went to North Central College for finance and economics. He currently works as an Energy Advisor. Blake recently moved to Tampa from Chicago. He met Jacob in high school after moving from Donovan. They have been great friends for 10+ years, from playing nine at Shagbark to watching the same movie 100 times. The two share a bond of rooting for an insufferable team. Blake is excited to participate in Jacob and Maddie’s special day.
