Joe and I met New Year's Eve 2022 at a dance hall down in Texas. My best friend Morgan and Joe had been coworkers for a few weeks at this point and she had invited to come hang out and meet all her coworkers. That night Joe and I exchanged snapchats (yes I know, very Gen Z of us) and ended up texting until 3 am. A few days later I asked Joe out on a date, because girls can ask first too. Our first date we went to a hibachi restaurant and to see the new (at the time) Black Panther movie. After that first date we ended up hanging out any time we had free time. I remember one night he had come over to my house, I sat down with my Mom after he left and I told my Mom, "I think I'm falling for him but he's going to leave and go back to Minnesota!" Then just a few days later we made it official! Then a quick 4 months later he was packing to go back home for the summer. We decided that we were going to do long distance, which was definitely hard, but made us stronger. Joe then came to visit for my birthday. I then decided to fly up to Minnesota to ride down to Texas with Joe. When the time came for Joe to move back to Minnesota he decided to stay in Texas with me. We were there for each other through the hardest things in life. I can't wait to marry this man and take his last name.
