JP and Maddie's love story sparked in Statesboro, Georgia where they both were on spring break at Georgia Southern. Neither were allowed to leave the gorgeous town of Statesboro due to baseball season and student teaching. They hit it off at the local bar, Dingus Magees, where Maddie was swept away by his southern charm. Soon after that JP found the way to Maddie's heart by asking her on their first date to get hibachi and sushi at her favorite restaurant, Tokyo. For dessert they got milkshakes at Bruster's and discovered their first similarity, their hate for whip cream. From then on they were inseparable. Maddie decided to stay in Statesboro for her first year of teaching, while cheering on JP at JI Clements Stadium every weekend for his last baseball season. They now have a home in Dalton, Georgia where JP asked Maddie to marry him. They are so happy to be together in Dalton, where Maddie is teaching second grade at Westwood and JP is selling turf for The Recreational Group.
