Maddie and Kyle met in junior high band in 2012. He was her first homecoming date and first crush. After years of wrong timing, they reconnected over UTSA at the end of 2019. All of those old feelings came rushing back for both of them and the rest is history. They began dating in January 2020. Maddie's giant love of dogs (and a little stubbornness) resulted in them bringing home their fur baby, Bleux, in April 2021.

Maddie graduated from UTSA in 2022 and Kyle in 2023. Kyle has been doing amazing work at his job as Assistant Band Director for Columbia High School since receiving his degree. Maddie has been pursuing her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at UTMB and graduates in August 2025.

Kyle chose to propose on the night Maddie received her white coat in July 2024. This signified not only the end of academic classes for Maddie, but also the beginning of her dream life with Kyle.
