Our Wedding

I remember being introduced to Matthew the first week of my freshman year at Tech, he was playing basketball at a XA hangout. But we never got super close because I spent a lot of time in my dorm and he spent a lot of time climbing mountains and stuff. The summer before my sophomore year I was praying and Matt came to my mind, which was odd since we weren’t super close. So I messaged him and we connected a bit in July. However it didn’t really take off for another month. I went back to school early for band and I had seen him a couple of times but never really said anything due to nerves. But I sent a message to the XA chat about a band event happening on a Friday night in hopes that he would come, and he did! He sought me out after the performance and we started to become close after that. We spent pretty much every day together for the next week before classes started and I knew I was falling hard for him. His heart for the Lord, his passion for ministry, and the way he loves &amp; respects me is such an answered prayer. We made our relationship official August 23rd and have made so many memories since then. We’ve hiked Mt. Nebo, went to a Razorback game, played tons of board games, and spent hours in Midtown Coffee shop. But one of my favorite things we’ve done together has been stepping into ministry. This season has brought so many open doors and opportunities to say “Yes” to the Lord. I’m excited to continue this with him. Matthew proposed on November 30th after I was completely fooled by all of my friends and family. After church he told me we were gonna go hiking, and safe to say I did not want to do that. But, long story short, we drove to White Rock Mountain and hiked a small trail where he then proposed! I was over the moon, and even more excited that he planned a surprise engagement party afterwards. I’m excited to step into this next season of our life, and I’m glad we’re getting to share this memory with all of you!

Maddie’s POV

<p>I have known Maddie for about a year but never got to really know her on a personal level. I remember talking to her a total of three times throughout that year before the summer. She had always started the chat just like this summer when she had DM me on Instagram just out of the blue. She had said that the Lord had put my name on her heart and was wondering how I was doing and was wondering what she could be praying for. We had chatted briefly, but it wasn't anything solid I thought anyways. The following week Chi Alpha was serving the band for dinner one night and I had seen her again, but I didn’t make my way over to her to talk. I just got busy. I guess. I do recall her telling me goodbye before she left for rehearsal which I thought was super sweet. The next day she was doing this performance on the square, and she had sent out an invitation to the group chat which I took as a personal invitation. So, I waited all day for the performance to get the chance to speak with her. After the performance I had found her, and I yapped for about 30mins or longer before she had to leave to take one of her friends back to campus. A few days later went by and I was rushing back to RFA for lunch to try and catch her before she left. The crazy thing is I pulled up as soon as she was walking out the doors. WILD!! It honestly went by really quick that following week we went on several dates and spent all our time together that first week of school. We definitely caught feelings for each other quickly and I knew that I loved Maddie deeply and wanted a relationship with her. So, one week was as long as I needed to make things official. We just fell in love deeper and just started making memories together. Going on double dates to just chilling together at each other's houses. I just knew I was going to marry Maddie, so you know what I did me and two of my bros went to Fort Smith to go buy a ring two weeks into dating. It was a couple months later that I decided that I was going to propose. It really was a miracle that I got her parents blessing since we had barely been dating 3 months when I had talked to them, but the grace of God helped me with this. Now look where we are now, Thank you Lord.</p>
