We met working for Enterprise at the Norfolk airport. We spent many night shifts together and realized very quickly how much we have in common. It started out as a great friendship and blossomed into our unconditional love we share today!

...Maddie!!! Maddie originally asked Ryan to grab a drink (as friends) at one of our favorite places, The Porch. Ryan actually wanted to say no but his wonderful roommate convinced him to go (thanks Andrew!). After that, Maddie knew Ryan could be the one and she didn't waste any time initiating the first kiss. Ryan will never admit it but Maddie definitely made the first move.

As many of you may know, Darin Lowe has never been fond of his daughter dating ANYONE. Ryan was very aware of this fact, making him particularly nervous to ask this important question. Ryan joined Maddie on her yearly hunting trip in November, 2023 and knew he had to ask Darin that week. That whole week Darin had a gun in his hand which did not make things easy. Ryan finally found a window where Darin didn't have his gun so he began to ask, right as Darin pulled out all of his carving knives and started sharpening them. Long story short, Ryan asked permission while Darin had a knife in his hand making the task that much more daunting. Luckily for Ryan, it was a very easy "yes" for Darin and everyone made it out alive.

Ryan planned the picture perfect proposal...literally. A weekend getaway in Surf City, North Carolina turned into a moment we will never forget. Maddie had an idea it was coming, as Ryan asked "how long would it take you to get ready to watch the sunrise at 5am?" As we both sat there waiting for the sunrise to hit peak "picture worthy" color, Ryan positioned his phone to capture the moment. Ryan's nerves took over and he "dapped up" Maddie which is something neither of them will ever forget. It was the easiest "yes" Maddie has said, and we both look forward to forever.
