Rett + Maddie met one lateee night at the good ole Sigma Chi Fraternity house at Georgia Southern back in April of 2018. Rett graduated in the fall of 2019 and moved to Huntsville, AL for work. The couple navigated the long distance for a few months before the nationwide shut down put them in an 800 square foot apartment for the summer. Thankfully they made it out alive, minus Maddie's DIY hair coloring that Rett assisted on. Rett started his own business in 2021 bringing him back home to Dawsonville, GA. Maddie finished up school that May and the couple moved into their first apartment in Vinings, GA just a block away from the Braves Stadium. They enjoyed date nights to Braves games, joined a nearby gym, and mastered the 'You cook, I'll clean' method in those 2 years. Maddie and Rett have now planted their roots and bought their first home in March of 2024. They joined their local church and enjoy their new routine of pancakes-church-then lake. Rett proposed at Yonah Mountain Vineyards on April 21st 2024 in the wine cellar room on what Maddie thought was just another 'Girls Wine Day'. They cannot wait to celebrate their love with you in April and are grateful for all of those who have helped build them along the way.
