Maddie and Jack met shortly after both the Storts & Cox families relocated to Minnesota in 2012 and 2013. Through Jostens, the two families were connected, and they all share fond memories of summer pool parties, crawfish broils, chili cook-offs, and other get-togethers! Little did they know, Maddie and Jack both had their eyes set on the other from the time they met :)

Maddie and Jack reconnected in 2020 and started dating in early 2021 while they were both in high school. After spending a lot of time getting to know one another better that school year and summer, they decided to continue dating through long distance. Maddie and Jack are currently in their fourth (and last!) year of long distance with Jack studying electrical engineering at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana and Maddie studying kinesiology at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, Minnesota. They both are looking forward to their upcoming graduations in May 2025.

Jack proposed to Maddie on the night of August 31, 2024 at one of their memorable spots. They have made a tradition of picnicking in this spot, overlooking the town golf course and watching the sunset. After talking the evening away, he sat up on one knee while they were laying out under the stars. It was a beautifully perfect night, and Maddie could not have been more surprised or excited to say yes!

The Lord has been faithful throughout their relationship in many ways. Maddie and Jack have found such blessings in all they have learned, growing individually and together, especially through long distance. They have brought one another closer to God and feel His love deeply in their love for each other.

Regarding their future plans, Jack has accepted a job with ThermalTech Engineering in Kalamazoo, MI. Maddie is taking a gap year to then attend graduate school and earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Following the wedding this summer, they will be relocating to Michigan for these pursuits. They are excited to lean into the Lord's plans, and to continue growing in their relationship with Him and one another through marriage!
