Doug and Madeleine met during the covid years. In the beginning, Maddie played hard to get and Doug was the personification of the phrase, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."

They would see each other at the '07 and elsewhere and eventually became aquatined. In May 2021 that acquaintance turned into something more, when Doug finally succeeded in convincing Maddie to go on a date with him. From that day on, they've been inseparable.

In those three years, they've done a lot. Vacations and Christmases, Maddie buying a home and together buying a little scrappy dog. It all culminated in December 2023 when Doug proposed in front of friends, family, (and a reindeer) at a Christmas party. Madeleine said yes!
