We met on our shared street, as the new neighbor and the boy next door. We were always on each other’s nerves, constantly instigating one another, and overall, not very compatible. As young kids, we were always told that one day, we would end up getting married. The girl next door, and her best friend’s older brother. Neither of us enjoyed it when people would say things like that though, because back then, it couldn’t be further from the truth.

As time passed and we got older, things changed. We would share small glances back and forth, and tease each other in a way that felt different than it did when we were younger. We started hanging out one on one, which quickly led to us going on our first date, and a summer that permanently changed things between us.

After a few wasted months on what people may call “right person wrong time”, we made our way back to each other, and have not left one another’s side since. Making a promise to each other to love, support, and cherish each other, in the place that started it all, truly was magical, and is a moment we will never forget.

Growing up together and being able to witness each other’s growth and share memories has allowed us to build a deeper understanding of one another. We are so excited to continue to do so, as we step into the first chapter of the rest of our lives.
