Our Wedding

It all started with Daniel receiving a text from his friend Luke with the words, “Would you be open to going on a date with a suitable lady?”. Daniel had no idea that on the other side of Columbus, Maddy had joined a bible study and also became friends with Luke and Ana. Daniel also had no idea how suitable Maddy was going to be!

A few text exchanges later, Daniel picked Maddy up for their blind date and they went on their way to the Columbus Zoo. After seeing their favorite zoo animals (elephants and manatees), and walking an extra lap around the zoo just to spend more time together, they returned home with plans for a second date.

Through dates and intentional conversations their interest in each other began to grow. They ate great food, took over board game nights, and even went to Maddy's first rodeo together. Finally, (after buttering her up with homemade peanut butter cookies) they decided to make it official on Leap Day!

Their mutual pursuit of each other continued. They read books together, tried new experiences, and kept learning more about each other's heart and character. And after many months, both of them were certain that this love and this person they found is what they wanted for the rest of their lives.

This led to the evening of June 26th. Daniel, with the help of many friends, had meticulously crafted a plan to ask Maddy to marry him: a walk to Jeni's ice cream. This specific walk to Jeni's happens to pass by a gazebo in Goodale Park that Daniel fake proposed to Maddy in just nine months prior. On the walk, with ice cream in hand, Daniel dropped to his knee in that gazebo and asked Maddy to marry him.

Just like the engagement party after the proposal, being surrounded by friends and family, we are ready to celebrate this marriage with the support of all of those around us. There have been so many people that have impacted this relationship and we cannot wait to celebrate and share the love that has been growing between us since the beginning!
