Our Wedding

On December 24, 2023 at approximately 10:34pm, I received an Instagram message from Joshua Siemsen asking for my younger brothers address so that he could send him a Christmas gift. And while I knew of him from when we went to the same high school briefly in 2017, I thought it was odd that he wouldn't have just texted his friend who also knew my brother. However, I would have thought it was even weirder had that same brother (Jonah) not told me that he and his friend (Avery, who also happens to be best friends with Josh), were going to set the two of us up. But, it had been weeks since he told me that so until I received this message, I thought maybe they had just forgotten or that Josh had chickened out ;). For the next few days, we carried on with conversation until we met up later that week at our favorite restaurant in Topeka--Paisano's (If you are local to Topeka, you MUST try it). After that, we made it through two more dates before I tried to sabotage everything by convincing myself that I was "too busy" and "wasn't ready for a relationship." Buttt, I told him that we could remain friends anyways. Well, that lasted a whole two and a half days before I was back to texting him about how his favorite childhood restaurant in Topeka (Steak-n-Shake, YUCK) was shutting down. I played it like I was just being friendly and letting him know (yeah, right). The conversation continued on for a month or two until we hung out again at the end of February 2024. From then on, we stuck like glue. We officially started dating March 2, 2024, we got engaged on May 8, 2025, and plan to be married June 12, 2026! Throughout all of this time, I remained in school (finally graduated December 2025, thank goodness) which meant we had to build our relationship while somewhat long distance. While it hasn't been easy, it's made our relationship even stronger. :) We thank God for all the blessings and for all the lessons learned along the way, as well as all of the love and support from all of our amazing family and friends (aka, YOU). We are so excited to celebrate our marriage with you all. To God be the glory!

PLEASE BE AWARE!The World Cup (yes, THE FIFA World Cup), will be in Kansas City in June 2026. Because of this, only one of the hotels in the KC/Lawrence was allowing room blocks (#livelaughlove).
