Q + A

What is Altitude Sickness?

I have attached a link below for your reference. It does not happen to everyone, however, we want everyone to be aware of it and/or take steps to help prevent this

We plan to have that first day to really relax and make sure everyone becomes acclimated to the elevation change from what we are used to. However, we know most of us are coming from an "at home elevation" of under 1,000 feet. Elevation sickness usually occurs when we are in areas above 8,000 feet.

Elevations for reference:

Denver CO: 5,280 feet

Breckenridge and Blue River CO: 9,600 feet

Leadville CO: 10,158 feet

Georgetown CO: 8,250 feet

According to the Denver Post, "Altitude sickness can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, physical fitness or previous experience with altitude. Even someone who lives in Denver can get sick when traveling to the mountains. Physically fit people are more likely to exert themselves, though, leading to increased chances of altitude sickness."

If you are concerned about this or prone to getting altitude sickness, we ask that you visit your family doctor and ask them if there is anything they recommend or can prescribe to you for your trip. Another possibility is staying the first night or coming a night early (Tuesday) and staying at a hotel in Denver to allow your body to adjust to the elevation change.

*They also sell personal size oxygen tank kits that you can purchase at most gas stations and grocery stores in Colorado

Where will you guys be getting married at?

We will be having an small ceremony with our family members at Twin Lakes in Leadville, CO on June 21st 2024 around 2:30pm

What is the dress code for the wedding on Friday?

Semi-Formal Attire

We want everyone to be comfortable as we'll be outside for the day of our wedding. Leadville Colorado has an elevation level of 10,158 feet. Temperature wise, they have an average high temperature of 67 degrees and average low temperature of 33 degrees for June. So we recommend you wear or bring a cardigan/coat/jacket in the case it is cold that day. Or a long sleeve dress option is fine as well. We also recommend packing an umbrella just in case. They are not know to have a ton of rainfall the month of June, however, they can have an occasional afternoon rain shower. Any questions, please feel free to ask!

What is the dress code for the rehearsal dinner on Thursday?

"Dressy Casual" or "Smart Casual"

Options for the women: Sundress, flowy dress, maxi dress, or cocktail-length dress, a nice blouse with pants, romper or a jumpsuit

Options for the men: Khakis, Jeans, or a nice pair of pants, button down top

Will meals be provided on certain days?

Yes! Dinner will be provided on June 20th and for the day of the wedding on June 21st.

Do we have to attend every activity?

No! We understand not every activity will be something that is interesting to everyone, so we will have set days we will have an activity but will have back up ideas for those who don't want to participate. We would like to book the train ride and the white water rafting (for those who would like to participate) by March 31st if possible!
