Atlanta is such a huge city that it can become overwhelming to see and do everything our city has to offer! Here is a list of a few Atlanta staples or things you might enjoy while you're here for the weekend.
Midtown
The Georgian Terrace is located in Midtown, so this area of town would be the most convenient for walking or a quick Uber/Lyft if you are staying at the hotel.
The Beltline: A paved walking trail that connects fun areas of the city. There are tons of restaurants and breweries along the way. We personally love sitting on the patio and listening to live music at New Realm Brewery.
Ponce City Market: Also on the Beltline, an indoor market/food hall with shops and unique restaurants.
The ROOF at Ponce City Market: The rooftop of Ponce City Market includes Skyline park (a vintage style mini-amusement park with games and mini-golf), and a few restaurants and bars. The rooftop is know for its amazing views of the city!
Piedmont Park: An urban park in the heart of the city with paved trails, playgrounds, and tons of open space for picnics and yard games. If you happen to run into a King of Pops popsicle stand, don't pass it up! We have spent many days taking our dogs on walks throughout the park or grabbing a beer and watching a game at Park Tavern.
Krog Street Market: Another indoor market/food hall along the Beltline, with lots of restaurants. We personally love getting Mexican food at Superica. Save room for dessert with Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream!
Downtown
The Georgia Aquarium: The largest aquarium in the United States! We have taken many family/friends with children here when they visit. They recently added a new shark exhibit too.
Coca Cola: Atlanta is the headquarters for Coke. You can take a tour of the Coke Museum and try various Coca-Cola's from around the world.
Both the Georgia Aquarium and CocaCola Museum are located next to Centennial Olympic Park.
Buckhead
There aren't many activities to do in Buckhead, but we lived here for a few years and found some good restaurants with fun vibes. There are too many to name and you really can't go wrong, but we love The Iberian Pig.
