Some love stories are written over time, in the quiet moments between fate and familiarity—and that's exactly how Maddy and John’s began. Though both attended Lockport Township High School, Maddy and John never spoke a word to each other as classmates. Life had other plans.

The true beginning of their story came at John’s high school graduation party, where they discovered they were both headed to the University of St. Francis. That shared future became the spark of their connection. As freshmen, they joined the same honor society and hit it off at orientation—laughing nearly the entire time.

Their bond grew quickly, filled with fun, deep conversation, and an undeniable connection. John, knowing he had found someone special, asked Maddy out multiple times. But she hesitated, concerned about how dating might affect their already close-knit family ties—especially since John’s sister Rachel and Maddy’s brother Dave were high school sweethearts.

Eventually, in March 2020, Maddy said yes. From that moment on, their relationship blossomed. They shared everything from late-night study sessions to weekend adventures, growing stronger as a couple and as best friends.

At the heart of their relationship has always been their Catholic faith, which has provided both a foundation and a guide through life’s ups and downs. Their shared beliefs and devotion to each other and their faith have kept them grounded, helping them build a love that is not only filled with joy but also with a deep sense of purpose. Their love has been shaped not only by their faith but also by the incredible role models they’ve had in their lives. Their parents, grandparents, and now siblings have shown them what it means to love deeply and selflessly, offering guidance and a shining example of true commitment and care.

On May 24, 2024, John got down on one knee and asked Maddy to spend forever with him in their favorite town, Lockport. Their story is one of timing, patience, faith, family, and a love that grew naturally and beautifully.

Now, they can’t wait to begin the next chapter—surrounded by the family and friends who have been cheering them on since the very beginning, and guided by the faith and love that have always been at the center of their foundation.
