The Avery/Pansera Wedding COVID-19 Response

Dear Family & Friends,

We have made the decision to move forward with our wedding scheduled for Saturday, April 10th, 2021. We will be following the Montgomery County COVID-19 guidelines and will work to exceed required&nbsp;safety measures.

If you have any reservations of attendance, please know that we can celebrate with you another time. Additionally, we will be live streaming our wedding ceremony for those who are unable to attend. Details of the live stream will be available closer to the wedding and will be provided upon request.&nbsp;If at any point in time you feel sick or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, please do NOT attend our wedding on April 10th, 2021 and please let us know at your earliest convenience.

Safety Measures:

•&nbsp; Seating at the Wedding Ceremony in the Church will be limited to every other pew to promote social distancing.

•&nbsp; Masks will be required at the Ceremony.

•&nbsp; Pre-packaged individual "goodie bags" filled with new masks, hand sanitizer, and tissues will be given to guests as they arrive to the Ceremony.

•&nbsp; Masks are recommended at the Reception, but will be optional.

•&nbsp; The Reception has a 300 person capacity, however we will be limiting our guest count to no more than 200 to promote social distancing. Additionally, our venue has ample space outdoors for conversing. Cocktail hour is scheduled to be outdoors. There will be seating stations set-up outside to promote distancing and encourage outdoor conversations.

•&nbsp; There will be at least one sanitizing station set up at the Reception venue with additional masks. •&nbsp; Colored social distancing wristbands will be available for all guests to wear at the Reception.&nbsp; The color of the wristband will indicate comfort level of the guest. For example, the Red wristband = "I'm keeping my 6ft distance always," the Yellow wristband = "I'm ok with talking, but not touching," and the Green wristband = "I'm ok with hugs and high fives."

•&nbsp; Dinner will be in the style of a served buffet, meaning that designated staff members will serve the buffet line with masks and gloves. Guests will be dismissed in a specific order to approach the buffet line (distancing in line is encouraged).

•&nbsp; Barware and drinks will be served in disposable cups to eliminate glass contamination. There will be one charged glass&nbsp;water goblet at each guest's place setting for toasting, however additional drinks will be served in disposable cups.

•&nbsp; The Bride & Groom will sanitize after visiting at least in between every table and each guest if requested.

Intro

Michael &&nbsp;Madeline&nbsp;met each other in grade school&nbsp;when Madeline moved to the same neighborhood as Michael in Yorkville,&nbsp;IL. It was&nbsp;a series of events in high school that brought them&nbsp;together.&nbsp;

Their Story

Preface

The week of&nbsp;Valentine's Day during Mike and Madeline's&nbsp;Sophomore year of high school, the school was selling “Valentine grams.” Valentine grams consisted of a&nbsp;flower and a Valentine's card which&nbsp;students could purchase and have sent to another student (similar to the movie Mean Girls for those of you familiar). At this time&nbsp;Mike and Madeline were not dating, but&nbsp;they&nbsp;had Chemistry class together&nbsp;and Mike had overheard Madeline say that she wanted to receive a Valentine gram. Within the next few days Madeline was delivered a pink flower to her desk in class with a Valentine's Day card from Michael.

Mike & Madeline's Story

On one&nbsp;weekend in the fall of their Sophomore year of high school, Mike sent Madeline a text that said "Hey." It was fairly random, because Mike and Madeline were friendly in class, but not the type of friends that texted or hung out. Madeline responded to Mike’s text and said "Hey," to which Mike asked "Are you going to the Homecoming dance?" Madeline told Mike "No,” she wouldn't be going to the dance that year because she had a softball tournament that she was going to be&nbsp;playing in the same weekend of the dance. To this Mike said, "Ok, I was just asking around."Madeline didn't think much of the texts and a&nbsp;few weeks later her team won their softball tournament. After the championship game was over, Madeline’s mom told her that they might be able to make it home in time for the Homecoming dance. Madeline and her mom rushed home to Illinois from the softball tournament in Indiana. Madeline’s teammate gave her a dress to borrow, her brother's friend gave her shoes to wear, and she did her own makeup while a teammate simultaneously did her hair. She was ready within 20 minutes and met a group of her friends as they were headed to the dance. Mike was surprised to see Madeline at the dance that evening and Madeline didn't think anything of it.Flash forward to springtime of their Junior year. Prom was approaching and Madeline wanted Mike Pansera to ask her. Madeline decided to talk to Katie Gette (now Katie Pansera) who played softball with her on the high school team and also happened to be dating Matt, Mike’s older brother. Katie and Madeline were working on hitting drills at softball&nbsp;practice when Madeline asked if Katie could somehow help. Katie&nbsp;would get Matt to put in a good word and nonchalantly get Mike to ask her to Prom. However, at this time Katie told Madeline that Mike thought she lied to him and rejected him when he “asked” her to the homecoming dance earlier that year. Madeline explained the misunderstanding to Katie, how Mike sent her a text and how she barely made it to the dance after her tournament. Katie laughed and agreed to help Madeline, which ultimately ended up with Matt saying to Mike, "I heard Maddie Avery wants you to take her to Prom" (very nonchalant Matt). Madeline didn’t hear anything from Mike until 2 weeks later when she got a text saying, "Hey."From there it was history. Mike and Madeline went to Prom together that year and the following year. They&nbsp;talked all the time, they studied together, played in band and orchestra concerts together, and went to many movies together. Mike supported Madeline at her softball tournaments and she supported him at his football games. Before long the two realized how much they love each other. They continued their relationship after high school with&nbsp;4 years of long-distance when Mike went to college at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN and when Madeline went to Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. They took plane rides to see each other, wrote letters, and called/video chatted constantly.

The Proposal

In August 2018, the summer before our senior&nbsp;year in college,&nbsp;we decided to go on a trip to&nbsp;Denver, CO. We wanted to go&nbsp;backpacking in the Rocky Mountains. Jeremy and Taylor, Mike's best friend and his best friend's girlfriend, also&nbsp;came with us on our trip. We were&nbsp;so excited. We&nbsp;picked out a pretty difficult hike; it wasn't very far, but it finished at 11,000 ft elevation with a beautiful view. Not going to lie, we&nbsp;didn't think Jeremy and Taylor were going to make it up to the top of our hike. Poor Taylor had elevation sickness, but she had pure determination to make it to the top of our hike for Mike's proposal. Once we reached the top of our hike, we all naturally began taking photos of the scenery. When just the two of us&nbsp;posed for a photo, Mike&nbsp;got down on one knee and proposed!

About the Bride

Madeline Brook Avery - Daughter of Todd & Sandra

Madeline spent the beginning of her childhood&nbsp;in&nbsp;the small town of&nbsp;Elizabeth, IL. She then&nbsp;moved to Yorkville, IL&nbsp;before starting 5th grade and&nbsp;graduated from Yorkville High School (with Michael). Madeline&nbsp;was very involved in sports and school&nbsp;growing up (like Michael). She competed on the school's volleyball, basketball, and softball teams; she also played competitive travel softball outside of school; she played the violin in the school's orchestra; and she was a part of academic clubs (with Mike.)&nbsp;After high school, Madeline attended&nbsp;Cornell&nbsp;University, where she played Division 1 softball and&nbsp;graduated in December 2018 with&nbsp;a Bachelors in Applied Economics and Management with a focus in Finance. Michael Vincent Pansera - Son of Carmelo & Marcia

Michael&nbsp;grew up in Yorkville, IL and graduated from Yorkville High School (with Madeline). Michael was very involved in clubs and sports in&nbsp;school.&nbsp;He competed on the scholastic bowl team,&nbsp;math team, and&nbsp;football team.&nbsp;He also&nbsp;played the bass trombone in the school band&nbsp;and&nbsp;he was a&nbsp;part of the robotics club and academic clubs (with Madeline).&nbsp;After high school, Michael&nbsp;attended&nbsp;Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, where he graduated with&nbsp;a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Aerospace. At this time he also graduated from ROTC and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.&nbsp;Michael then went on to receive his private pilot's license endorsed by the Air Force. Ale ("Ally") is Madeline's older sister and best friend. Ale &&nbsp;Madeline grew up playing together every day. They would often play dress up, board games, softball, and&nbsp;anything you can imagine. When Madeline was in middle school and Ale was in high school, Ale would make Madeline her lunch and drive&nbsp;her to&nbsp;school every day. Ale also always went to Madeline's softball games.&nbsp;Ale is the best big sister in the world!

Grace &&nbsp;Madeline met&nbsp;Freshman year at Cornell. They both endured classes as&nbsp;Biometry &&nbsp;Statistics majors&nbsp;before transferring to Accounting &&nbsp;Finance majors.&nbsp;They quickly became best friends and were&nbsp;roommates Sophomore year to graduation. They studied, ate, cooked, went out, ordered an insane number&nbsp;of Insomnia Cookie cakes and Papa Johns pizzas, and watched endless hours of Grey's Anatomy, Riverdale, Romance movies, and Horror movies together.

Katie and Madeline became&nbsp;friends in high school when&nbsp;they played on the school's softball team together. Katie was the person to really bring Madeline and Mike together.&nbsp;Katie&nbsp;is also Madeline's future sister-in-law, as she&nbsp;is&nbsp;married to Matt, Mike's older brother.&nbsp;Katie and Matt just welcomed Caleb (Mike & Madeline's first nephew) into the family in October.

Louisa and Madeline were 3&nbsp;years old when they met. Madeline moved into a house&nbsp;on opposite side&nbsp;of the same block as Louisa. Naturally they began playing outside with each other and became best friends. The two constantly&nbsp;played double dutch with Ale in the driveway, they would go on trips and&nbsp;pick&nbsp;fresh raspberries, they used walkie talkies to talk to each other&nbsp;24/7, their families both went on vacations together, and so much more.

Ivey and Madeline met when they were both recruited to play softball at Cornell University.&nbsp;They practiced together, went out together,&nbsp;and when it came to Halloween&nbsp;they always&nbsp;dressed up in pairs. Some of their costumes consisted of Mermaid Man &&nbsp;Barnacle Boy, a boxer &&nbsp;a punching bag, Woody &&nbsp;Buzz Light Year, and leg lamps. Ivey is also the ultimate "Bonnaroovian," and Ivey and Madeline attend&nbsp;Bonnaroo music festival together with their friends&nbsp;every summer.

Maddie and Madeline also played on the softball team at Cornell together. Maddie was Madeline's pitcher and she graduated a year before Madeline. The two became closer friends when they lived together in the same house (with Grace)&nbsp;during Maddie's senior year. Maddie and Madeline often walked to practice and class together, and&nbsp;Maddie made Madeline and Grace many plates of&nbsp;dinner&nbsp;and cookies. She even got Madeline to try new foods like plantains!

Olivia and Madeline became friends in 5th grade. They were best friends all throughout high school and maintained their friendship when they went to different colleges. When they were in middle school and high school they had many classes together, lunches, birthday parties, and school dances. B52 is one of our favorite breweries.&nbsp; It is located about 20 minutes from the reception venue.&nbsp; This brewery always has different beers and has 20+ on tap.&nbsp; Madeline likes the sours and Mike likes the Breakfast Stout best.&nbsp; There is an indoor area as well as an outdoor area with lawn games.&nbsp; There is also always a&nbsp;yummy food truck on site.

This is another one of our favorite breweries and it is located in Houston, TX.&nbsp; The brewery has 3 floors including a restaurant and a&nbsp;rooftop with a beautiful view of downtown Houston.&nbsp; Mike's favorite beer: All of them.&nbsp; Madeline's favorite appetizer: Rip and Dip&nbsp;Pretzel with Beer Cheese.&nbsp;

Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co

Karbach has a great selection of beers, cocktails, and food. It is a brewery with an indoor restaurant and bar and also an outdoor beer garden. This is a great place to go for food and drinks if you are in Houston!

Southern Star Brewing

Tony's has a variety of amazing sandwiches. If you don't like one on the menu, you can always create your own. They also have homemade cannolis and our favorite chips - Zapp's "Voodoo"&nbsp;chips. Oh, and don't worry,&nbsp;this Italian sub shop is "Mike approved." The deli is roughly 15 minutes from the reception venue.

Mike and Madeline love Torchy's Tacos!&nbsp;Torchy's has&nbsp;locations in The Woodlands, TX&nbsp;and in Houston, TX.

If you're visiting Texas, you have to try some crawfish! This bar and restaurant has a crawfish boil that you can get with potatoes, corn, shrimp, and sausage - but be careful because it packs some heat. The restaurant has both&nbsp;indoor and outdoor seating and is a little less than 15 minutes from the reception venue.

Another great option for food! We like the fajitas, queso, and guacamole.

We have spent many of our weekends out on Lake Conroe.&nbsp; Whether it was joy riding on the Avery's pontoon boat, tubing behind the boat, riding jet skis, water skiing, wake boarding, or fishing.&nbsp; You can rent boats, jet skis, fishing poles, and&nbsp;Airbnb,&nbsp;&nbsp;etc.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lake Conroe is a ton of fun and it is right next to&nbsp;the reception venue!

If you have never visited NASA, we definitely recommend going and touring for the day!&nbsp;It is roughly a 1 hour and 45 minute drive from the reception venue, but it is a ton of fun - Mike has been there 5 times!&nbsp; You can tour the mission control center, walk around in space crafts, take a guided tour, and look at space suits.

Blackwood offers&nbsp;pistol and rifle ranges, trap and skeet shooting, and&nbsp;sporting clays. The range allows you to&nbsp;buy/rent all necessary safety wear, guns, and ammunition. It is one of our favorite ranges that offers all equipment. It is located about&nbsp;25 minutes from the reception venue. Call their office if you have any questions!

Blackwood Gun Club

Located about 35 minutes from the reception venue. "At the end of the Roaring ‘20’s the Texas penitentiary was in bad shape with overcrowded conditions and money problems. Enter Lee Simmons in 1930&nbsp;as the General Manager.&nbsp;Simmons&nbsp;is known for two things that did not have to do with the daily operations. He&nbsp;conceived the idea of a prison rodeo in Huntsville and beginning in 1931, at the inmate baseball park adjacent to the Walls Unit, the Texas Prison Rodeo quickly became known across the nation and around the world as the Wildest Show Behind Bars. The rodeo lasted through 1986.&nbsp;Lee Simmons is also responsible for the demise of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. After their raid of the prison system’s Eastham Unit caused the death of one of the guards, Mr. Simmons hired former Texas Ranger Frank Hamer to find and put an end to Bonnie and Clyde. Mr. Hamer did just that. Upon his return, Mr. Hamer presented a pistol from the Bonnie and Clyde death car to Mr. Simmons."
