Welcome to New Orleans!
We are so excited to have so many of our loved ones traveling to celebrate our special day. To help you experience the magic of this city, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite spots. We hope you love them as much as we do!
Activities
Live Music: We love Frenchmen Street (especially Blue Nile). But don't miss brass bands all around the city! Check the Live Music Calendar, https://www.wwoz.org/calendar/livewire-music
French Market: Explore local artists, unique shops, and delicious food vendors. Beware of tourist traps, but it is one of the most famous stops in NOLA. Dutch Alley Artist's Co-op is our favorite spot for local art and souvenirs.
Royal Street: Stroll through art galleries and soak up the charm of the French Quarter.
Magazine Street: Shop, eat, and explore! Don’t miss Rum House nachos or a hot dog at Dat Dog.
Audubon Aquarium: Alligators, sting ray, and penguins! #2 Aquarium in the US. Tickets include entry to Insectarium.
Audubon Insectarium: Butterfly and Honey Bee exhibits! Eat a bug!
Audubon Zoo: If the weather is nice, this is an awesome activity for everyone!
Children's Museum in City Park: Exhibits for all ages.
New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) and Sculpture Garden: In City Park, walking through the Sculpture Garden after beignets at Cafe du Monde is the best morning.
The National WWII Museum: Can easily spend a morning or full day in this awesome museum.
Happy Hours, Beer, and Cocktails
Hotel Monteleone Carousel Bar: A must-see for its unique spinning bar!
The Vintage on Magazine: Great happy hour with tasty snacks and drinks.
Double Dealer: A speakeasy under the Orpheum Theater in the CBD.
Bar Marilou: Hidden behind a bookcase; reservations needed for the back room.
Tatlo: Witch themed Absinthe house with fun cocktails and mocktails in the French Quarter!
Breweries: Check out any of the local breweries on Tchoupitoulas Street for great craft beers (Port Orleans, NOLA, Urban South, Miel). Our favorite in Mid-City is Secondline Brewing down the street from City Park.
Effervescence: Champagne bar with happy hour and fancy snacks!
Cure: Great cocktails on Freret Street if you are uptown!

Food
Jacques-Imo's: Awesome atmosphere and NOLA classics. Right down the street from Maple Leaf for live music. Popular spot, so there may be a wait for a table!
Adolfo's on Frenchmen: The best Creole-Italian and on top of Barrel Bar with live music!
Ralph’s on the Park: Perfect for a fancy dinner with some of the best food in the city (look for our favorite Katie). Right by City Park!
Katie's: Everything is delicious. Rick insists we visit every time we’re in town for oysters!
Cafe Degas: Another spot nearby City Park! French style with awesome ambience.
Drago’s: Famous for their charbroiled oysters.
Blue Oak BBQ: Don’t miss Rick’s favorite spicy chicken sandwich.
Rosedale: Delicious and cozy neighborhood spot.
La Petite Grocery: Crab beignets and fine dining—ideal for a special evening out.
The Gumbo Shop: There are so many amazing food stops outside of the French Quarter hustle and bustle, but if you do find yourself in Jackson Square, the Gumbo Shop has all your New Orleans classics!
Desserts
Café du Monde: Beignets that are perfect for breakfast or dessert! We like the City Park location to avoid French Quarter lines and can stop by the Sculpture Garden while in the area.
Creole Creamery: Unique and delicious ice cream flavors.
Lucy Boone: A sweet treat worth finding.
Angelo Brocato’s: Don’t miss their amazing cannoli.
Breakfast & Brunch
Bearcat: A local favorite with Vegetarian, Vegan, Paleo options.
Ruby Slipper: Low key with something for everyone. Known for their amazing biscuits.
Willa Jean: A great spot if you’re in the CBD (Central Business District).
Birdy's Behind the Bower: Biscuit board :)
Alma Café: New Orleans Honduran breakfast and lunch. The best beans.
Enjoy exploring New Orleans and making memories while you’re here. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
