Our Wedding

It all began in an emergency room in Florida where Maddie was doing a neuro exam on a stroke patient as a measly intern during her first year of her medical training. Because cardiology was consulted, Dveet was also assigned to see this patient and stepped into the room to find Maddie asking the patient to smile, frown, raise their eyebrows, etc. Working in the same hospital, they knew of each other – Maddie, the ophthalmology intern, and Dveet, the cardiology fellow – but they had never formally met. They exchanged brief glances and introductions in the patient’s room, but Dveet graciously stepped out of the room to let Maddie finish her exam. He was equally impressed and frustrated with how thorough her exam was, and Maddie was shocked to see him still standing outside of the room when she finished, giving each other a nod as they parted ways. They had no idea that this seemingly mundane meeting would be the first time they met their future spouse.Months passed, and they both found themselves single and ready to mingle on the dating apps. Hinge profiles were created, their best selfies uploaded, and Dveet stumbled across a familiar face that he had seen in the ER months prior. He did not hesitate to send his precious rose across the app, which Maddie received and instantly followed up with a match. They began chatting, exchanged numbers, and eventually settled on a place for a first date.&nbsp;They met in a dimly lit speakeasy, hidden behind a bookshelf of a local pub. Maddie was late (as usual), but Dveet was exceptionally late. Hence began the list of things they shared in common. They bonded over (several) smoked old fashioneds, and immediately set up a second date later that same week. After the second date, they were nearly inseparable.&nbsp;They made a home together, and Dveet discovered his unwavering love for cats, namely – Maddie’s cat Simba. As time progressed, they realized that this romance was something neither of them had experienced before. Even through the difficult times of being a medical trainee, they found their love unyielding. They found in each other their best friend, biggest supporter, and lifelong partner. They learned to love and become a part of one another’s families.&nbsp;In the years that followed, they traveled to Colombia, Canada, The Bahamas, Hawaii, Indian, and Italy, where they got engaged in May of 2024.As our close friends and families know, we love to have a good time and cannot wait to share our wedding day with all of you! See you in Bali!
