About Tropea:

Already the name Tropea exudes pure holiday feeling. The little 6,300-inhabitant town is a popular holiday resort on the coast to the Tyrrhenian Sea, dubbed "the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea." Imagine a small place in the south, the sun is shining, a light breeze is blowing around your nose. Walking through the narrow streets, you will pass old pastel-colored houses that all tell their own story.

Perched on the cliffs is the Cathedral of Santa Maria dell' Isola. Delightful cafés, restaurants, boutiques and market stalls string together, from the distance you can hear the sound of the sea.

The city was built on a steep cliff of sandstone and offers you a fantastic backdrop. The ascent on the sandstone cliffs is worthwhile not only to admire the architecture but also the view. From here you, have the best view on Tropea, the beautiful gardens of Santa Maria dell' Isola and the enchanting Mediterranean beaches.

Flight Details:

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from the United States into Lamezia Terme (SUF), a connection will be necessary. ITA Airways (formerly Alitalia part of SkyTeam), Lufthansa, WhizzAir RyanAir, and EasyJet fly into Lamezia Terme from a connecting international airport.

Depending on your departure location, a cost effective tip would be to fly into either Milan or Rome and separately book RyanAir, EasyJet, WhizzAir, or Alitalia into Lamezia Terme (SUF). You could also book the connecting flights together.

For transportation from the airport to your hotel you can contact Rizzo Adriano (+39 329 4754683/ rizzo.adriano758@gmail.com). You can tell him you are an attendee of the Miceli/Brown wedding and you can pay cash or card during the trip. Whatsapp would be the best method of communication with Rizzo. You could also correspond with your hotel for shuttle information.

If you would like to rent a car, outside of the airport you can find all major car rental agencies. Booking in advance in highly recommended.

Train Details:

If you are planning on arriving from Reggio Calabria or Sicily (South of Tropea) you can take the approximately 2 hour train ride from Reggio Calabria or Villa San Giovanni to Tropea for about 15 euro.
