Madeline and David’s story began when they met in the dorms of the greatest institution to ever exist, Michigan State University. Hitting it off quickly, they started attending tailgates, football games, and social events together in their first year of college. As fate would have it, once freshman year ended, Maddie’s family bought a cottage on Portage Lake right outside of David’s home town, Jackson, and they were able to enjoy their ongoing summers and college years together.

As years passed, they graduated from MSU, started careers, and were able to continue their courtship together in Chicago. Through thick and thin, they’ve cherished the truly important things in life including a Rose Bowl, Cotton Bowl, World Series Championship, NCAA Playoff, and countless B1G Championships & Final Four’s.

Both enthusiasts of traveling and baseball, they set a goal to visit every Major League ballpark, so they could see multiple games and experience new cities. So, as a fitting conclusion to their early life together, David finally proposed to Maddie on the scoreboard of a game hosting the greatest franchise to ever exist, The New York Yankees. Needless to say, Maddie said yes marking a fitting end to the first chapter of their lives together.
