We first met each other unconventionally on an airplane! We were travelling with our dance company to compete at an international competition and were seated beside each other by chance. We spoke very little to each other for the duration of that trip, but over the next dance season, were placed on the same team. We became friends, bonded over many shared interests, spent many nights talking and learning about each other, our families, goals, plans for the future. Eventually, after many late night Denny's runs, playful jabs in dance classes, and meaningful phone calls, Leo asked me out on our very first date in a handwritten letter he gave me for Christmas. We went out for dinner, enjoyed the sights at Zoo Lights, and the rest became history.
