Madeline and Ryan met in the ICU at Penn Highlands during the height of COVID in August 2020. Madeline was an ICU Nurse and Ryan in his last year of medical school. They bonded over childhood stories and growing up in rivaling towns. When Ryan matched into a Neurology residency at Geisinger in Danville, Pennsylvania Madeline began working as a critical care nurse in the cardiac catheterization lab.

Their love blossomed through hiking trips all across the country (having now hiked in 10 states together). The two hope to instill love for the mountains in their baby boy, Ridge James, who made his arrival on March 22nd, 2024.
