Jacob and Madeline met on their first day of junior year at Hood College in August 2019. They were both majoring in Business Administration. Since they were attending a small school, they had three classes together. Very quickly they started talking during classes and may have even got in trouble for chatting too much. Madeline asked Jacob for his phone number so they could meet up after class to work on homework together. They became friends and it stayed that way for a few months! From there, Madeline got invited to a party at Jacob's college house. They hit it off immediately and quickly became more than just friends! On New Years Eve at midnight, Jacob asked Madeline to be his girlfriend.

From that point on they were inseparable. The pandemic started soon after they started dating and they continued to spend every day together. They embraced their time and enjoyed playing sports outside, cooking every meal, and late night runs to Dairy Queen. They both started internships and started their senior year. They were both offered full time jobs at their internships and started prior to graduation. In May of 2021, they got to celebrate their accomplishments and officially graduate from Hood.

Soon after, they began searching for a house to buy together! After a couple failed offers and months of searching, Jacob and Madeline settled on a house in Myersville, MD (Jacob's home town). During their house hunt, Madeline convinced Jacob to get their first dog Benny!

Since then, Jacob and Madeline have been loving their life in Myersville. There are a lot of parks and the town is very walkable! By Jacob's better judgement, Madeline adopted another Shiba named Kairi in September of 2022. They have also joined a few volleyball leagues together. Playing both sand and indoor volleyball with their friends! In their free time, Jacob and Madeline also enjoy taking their wake boarding boat to the Potomac river.

Then, Jacob decided he was going to ask Madeline to marry him! Jacob bought the ring in May of 2023 and had plans to propose on their trip to Canada in late July. Little did Madeline know she would plan their engagement when she arranged for them to get a few updated pictures taken. Jacob quickly changed his plans and contacted the photographer to set up the proposal. Madeline truly had no idea and was completely shocked!
