One of the park system's national treasures, Fort Adams is situated at the mouth of Newport Harbor with panoramic views. The festival at the Fort features 4 stages of music, food and crafts, two beer and wine gardens and a number of displays. Festival is held rain or shine.
Easton's Beach is a local public beach offering seasonal events, a carousel, rental cabanas, facilities & a snack bar. Easton's Beach, is located on Memorial Boulevard at the start of the Cliff Walk, and is a 3/4 mile long surf beach with a board walk. Relax and play in the beautiful white sand ocean beach!
The Breakers is a Vanderbilt mansion located on Ochre Point Avenue in Newport, RI. The building became a National Historic Landmark in 1994, and is open for visitation on a year-round basis. The Breakers was built as the Newport summer home of Cornelius Vanderbilt II, in an Italian Renaissance style. The mansion has 70 rooms, 5 floors, and covers 1 acre on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Thames Street is the nerve center of Newport's thriving downtown/waterfront area. It is lined on each side with countless bars, restaurants, shops and historic homes.
