Madi and Noah met through the EWU XC/TF team. The first time they actually saw each other was a few days before the first day of practice when they got their sports physicals. Noah instantly had a crush on her.

After a few weeks of practice and hanging out with a group of friends, Noah asked Madi out on a bowling date. Noah claims he tried to let her win the second game so that it would go to a third game, but still won on accident. They played the third game regardless.

After working on this puzzle together one night, Noah walked Madi back to her dorm building. On the walk back, Noah asked Madi if she would be his girlfriend. Madi said yes! Doing puzzles is still one of their favorite activities to do together.

Over winter break, Noah was very determined to see Madi. When a trip to Leavenworth fell through due to bad weather, Noah drove for about 12 hours trying to find a way to the Tri-Cities. After a night in Portland, he finally made it over safely. Madi and Noah went axe-throwing and had a fun couple of days together. At the end of the trip, Noah said, "I love you," and Madi said it back.

Throughout the year, Madi and Noah went on many travel trips for track and cross country together. One memorable trip was to California, where their plane back was cancelled, leading them to spend Easter on the beach in San Diego.

Over the summer, Madi went back to the Tri-Cities, while Noah stayed back in Cheney. Their relationship continued to grow through daily FaceTime calls and the occasional weekend visit.

Year 2 at Eastern was filled with lots of running, lots of fun, and lots of special memories! One highlight was a cross country meet in Missouri where they were able to visit this giant gumball machine and the St. Louis arch.

Noah and Madi's first Swoops Award Ceremony together- neither of them won an award, but it was still a fun night!

Noah and Madi go into their third year at Eastern excited to chase after some big goals together! Running, school, and work took up a lot of their time, but they still found ways to hang out with each other in the midst of the busyness.

Noah and Madi enjoyed going to weddings together throughout the summer and celebrating their friends and family!

Entering their last year at Eastern, Madi and Noah are still very much in love and ready to see what the future brings! Lots of big things ahead!!

An afternoon hike turned into a surprise engagement when Noah decided to propose at the top. Madi was so excited that she said "Yes!" before Noah could even ask the question. Needless to say they are both really excited to spend the rest of their lives together!

With the help of some friends, a surprise engagement party was put together to celebrate the newly engaged couple! So thankful for such amazing friends and such a fun night!!
