Seth and Madi had committed their lives to following Jesus years before meeting and waited patiently in singleness until God directed otherwise. Seth met Madi at a college lifegroup within Antioch Community Church in September of 2021. Madi was leading the lifegroup at the time, and over a few months, they got to know each other in their community. They each started developing an interest in one another around November but were unaware that the other liked them. Alas, prayers for clarity were answered when Seth called Madi the week before final exams, said she was gorgeous, and asked her on a date. Seven awesome dates later, they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend! They soon after went on a mission trip with their college ministry to Arkansas.
They dated throughout both of their college careers and continued growing closer in their church community and their relationship. Amidst the Corps of Cadets responsibilities, studying, and Madi working full time on night shifts, they learned to cherish their time together. God broke off lies, insecurities, fears, and struggles in both of their lives as they placed the Lord in the center of their relationship! They also endured many periods of long-distance, which would prepare them for their long-distance engagement while Seth started his Navy career and future deployments.
On November 4th, 2023, Seth surprised Madi and proposed at a secluded pond off of the traditions walk at Lake Atlas- a special date spot of theirs. He talked about the World Series (I, Madi, later found out he was nervous and stalling), and I did not think he was going to propose. Seth took pictures of her by the water and told her to look out at the water. When she turned around, he was on one knee! (That day was the biggest and sweetest surprise of my life! -Madi)
Their union is a gift from God and it is evident that He has brought them together! They are excited to step into new adventures God has for them in the Navy.
