Will and I met through my brother-in-law over spring break nearly two years ago. At the time, I was completely uninterested in a relationship, thus why Will jokes that I “didn’t even notice him.” I remember leaving Daniel’s apartment that night thinking about Will, whom I didn’t even talk to. A few weeks went by and Daniel mentioned to me that Will asked who I was. After browsing Will’s instagram (several times), I got the feeling that he was a rareity. But I didn’t get my hopes up, in the case that he never asked.
One Sunday night in April, as I sat listening to a message in my college ministry, I got a text message that read, “Hey Madi! I would really like to get to know you. Would you be interested in going on a date with me?“
I remember thinking to myself, wow, this man is pursing me, and this may be the last first date I ever go on. & as you can see, I was absolutely right. Our first date was at Brick and Forge & Will actually drove back up to Conway to see me two more times that week, even through a big storm! As we got to know each other, he quickly became my favorite person. His soft heart towards others, resourcefulness, work ethic, and love for the Lord were just a few characteristics I first noticed and fell in love with. Will chooses to continue to pursue and serve me every day and truly loves me the way Jesus does. I couldn’t be more excited to begin this journey with him forever by my side.
