I met Josh 8 days after I moved to Austin, after graduating from Auburn. I was working hard to meet new friends and was out with some girls I had met earlier that day. Later that night, I met Josh and his friends, and one of my now best friends Tessa Bauman, at one of our now favorite spots in Austin, Latchkey Patio. That night, I was immediately drawn to Josh's big smile and the way he already made me laugh. Plus he was the best dressed guy on that whole patio. What I didn't know, was that I would be quickly drawn to his enormous heart, confident demeanor, strong work ethic and loyal personality.
Flash forward a few days, Tessa and I became quick friends and she was at the time dating (but now married to!) Josh's roommate, Patrick. Through hanging out with Tessa, Josh and I were in the same crowd quite often. I'll never forget texting my sister after my first week of living in Austin that I was in trouble because the more I spent time with Josh as a friend the more I realized he was the exact person I could imagine myself being with.
Later that fall, Josh became a more important person in my life and I knew we weren't just friends. We went to concerts, Austin FC games, Barton Springs, fun dinners, and now Austin holds so many of my favorite memories because of Josh. Josh showed me new things about myself that I never knew I would love, and I grew to love him so quickly.
Over the past two years, one of my favorite things about Josh is the way he's turned my passions into his, and continued to make every day an adventure. Whether we're running, playing pickle ball or volleyball, taking a post-dinner stroll, making home-made wood fire pizzas, going to concerts, or picking out what bagel shop we're going to eat at - Josh makes every moment in life beautiful.
On June 7th, Josh took me to Ski Shores for dinner and little did I know he'd organized a surprise sunset boat ride where he asked me to marry him. I am so honored and proud to be Josh's future wife, and overwhelmed with gratitude that God included Josh in my Plan.
As we enter this season of exciting celebrations leading up to the covenant of marriage, I want to thank everyone who has been apart of Josh and I's love story and those who continue to pour into us daily. We are so blessed to be surrounded by loving friends and family. We can't wait to celebrate with you on August 30, 2025!

It was Memorial Day weekend 2022, and me and some of my friends grabbed dinner then headed to a bar (Latch Key Patio) for some drinks. After a little while we ran into a group of girls, and one immediately caught my eye and attention, Madi. I was immediately drawn to her warm, inviting, kind spirit, and presence. Not to mention her obvious beauty… The night was winding down and my dumb self didn’t think to ask for her phone number. Thankfully, she became instant besties with my roommate's now wife, Tessa. Tessa invited her to hang with the group the rest of the holiday weekend. And Madi, just a week into moving to Austin, didn’t hesitate to join in! The more I was around Madi the more I learned how sweet, spontaneous, and fun loving Madi was and is. Little did I know, that was a sneak peek into my forever future.
Fast forward a couple of months, Madi and I lost touch for a bit, but got reconnected through who? You guessed it, Tessa at ACL. This time I knew I had to make it count! We began hanging out and going on dates. Through dating, we got the chance to introduce each other to some of our favorite things; pickle ball, Texas country music, sushi, working out, and much more. She even got me into running and we have run two half-marathons together!
More importantly, I fell in love with Madi’s God fearing, servant heart. Doing life with Madi brings me more joy than I could have possibly imagined.
On the beautiful Friday evening of June 7th in the middle of Lake Austin I dropped to one knee and asked the love of my life to marry me. The biggest prayer in life was answered and I knew with 100% certainty that I would get to marry and spend the rest of my life with my best friend and favorite person in the whole world. This season of engagement has been such a blessing and we look forward to celebrating our covenant of marriage with you! August 30, 2025 here we come!
