Guest Info

Please take a moment to read through this entire page, as it contains important information for our wedding day. We appreciate your time in reviewing everything to ensure you have all the details you need. Thank you, and we can't wait to celebrate with you!

Can my kids come to the wedding?

In order to allow all guests, including parents, an evening of relaxation, we've chosen for our wedding day to be an adult-only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you're still able to share our big day and will enjoy having the evening off!

Who can I bring with me?

Only the adults named on the invitation are invited to attend. If you've been assigned a plus one, this will be clearly indicated.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by Saturday, August 30, 2025 through the RSVP tab on this website. When submitting your RSVP, please do not skip any of the questions — including dietary restrictions, whether you’ll be bringing a trailer to stay overnight, and whether you plan to use the complimentary bus. Only RSVP once you’re certain of your responses, as this information helps us plan accurately.

Where is the wedding?

Our ceremony will take place at Jacob’s grandpa’s lakefront property in Port Loring, with the reception just ten minutes away at the Argyle Community Centre. For more details, please visit the Home tab.

What are the accommodation options?

For those traveling from out of town, we recommend booking an Airbnb nearby or reserving a room in our hotel block at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Bay. Complimentary transportation will be provided from this hotel. Since the reception ends around midnight, staying locally or in North Bay can help you avoid driving tired or encountering wildlife on rural roads. More info can be found under the Accommodations tab.

Is there transportation to and from the venue?

Yes! We’re offering complimentary bus transportation from North Bay to the wedding venues. A school bus will leave from 1325 Seymour St. (Holiday Inn Express) at 2:00 PM sharp and bring guests to the ceremony and reception. The return trip will leave the reception at 11:30 PM, arriving back in North Bay around 12:30 AM. Please confirm your bus use in your RSVP. You don’t have to stay at the hotel to take the bus—it’s a convenient option for anyone who plans to enjoy our cash bar or who would simply prefer not drive to and from the wedding. Full details are available under the Timeline tab.

Will alcohol be served at the wedding?

Yes! We’ll offer a selection of alcoholic drinks at a cash bar, along with free non-alcoholic beverages. Just a heads up, shots won’t be served — that’s not the vibe we’re going for! Please note, only cash will be accepted at the bar — no cards. If you plan to enjoy any alcoholic beverages, please use our complimentary bus or arrange a safe ride home—we want everyone to enjoy the evening and get home safely.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Our dress code is semi-formal. We invite you to lean into the season with autumn colours, and dress in layers to stay comfortable. Please bring a practical pair of shoes for the outdoor ceremony (there will be some gravel and grass), and feel free to bring dressier shoes for the indoor reception space.

What if it rains?

Rain or shine, our ceremony will be held outdoors. We’ll provide 75 clear umbrellas—perfect for sharing with the person you’re attending with. No need to bring your own—we’ve got you covered (literally!).

What if it's cold?

While mid-October has brought t-shirt weather in the past, fall is unpredictable. We’ll provide hand warmers for each guest to use during the ceremony. Warm hands can go a long way in helping you feel warm overall! We also recommend bringing a warm coat, just in case.

What time should we arrive?

Our ceremony will begin at 3:30 PM. Since many of our guests will be traveling from afar, we hope this timing gives you the chance to enjoy a relaxed morning, take the drive at your own pace, and eat a good lunch—without feeling rushed to arrive around 3:00 - 3:15 PM.

What time is the evening reception scheduled to end?

Dinner, speeches, and special dances will run from 5:30 PM to 8:10 PM, followed by dancing until midnight. Feel free to head out after the first dance if needed, but if you can, we’d love for you to stay and dance the night away with us. (To our younger guests—we’re counting on you to stay and close out the night with us!)

What's the best way to gift the couple?

The best way to give a gift is by checking out our registry on this website (see the Registry tab) for any items that haven’t been purchased yet. If you’d prefer, a gift of cash would also be greatly appreciated as we start this next chapter together.

Will I see the newlyweds the day after their wedding?

After our wedding, we won't be seeing friends or family, so please be sure to say goodbye before you head out! On Sunday, we'll be heading back to Barrie to spend a quiet day together before departing on Monday for our two-week honeymoon. We'll spend our first week in Ireland and our second week in Rome, Italy.
