Our Wedding

We met at our Campus Ministry Retreat in October 2022. Jaryd remembers meeting Madi while tossing a football during free time in the afternoon, but Madi remembers Jaryd first talking to her during the dance party on Saturday night.Madi instantly had a crush, maybe it’s because Jaryd remebered her name, but Madi walked away telling all her girlfriends it was the best first impression she’d ever had.So much so, the next day, she -not so subtly- tried to give Jaryd a goodie bag full of candy “for her favorite person she met at camp” and Madi told their mutual friend Katianna, that she wanted to sit next to Jaryd during church - hoping to hold his hand during prayer.Madi messaged Jaryd on instagram after retreat, but Jaryd politely did not keep the conversation going… it wasn’t God’s time for us… Yet!

How we met

Jaryd and some friends came up to play pickleball in May 2023, Madi had said hi to Jaryd at some congregational events since the Fall retreat, but he never seemed to pay her much mind.But in May, Jaryd finally realized how fun Madi was. We played pickleball with our friends that day, and then 3 days later, Jaryd went out of his way to come to a drive in movie to hang out with Madi and her ministry.We talked the whole movie laughing and getting to know one another. We talked about our bucket lists and favorite avengers (Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was playing) Our friends were shushing us the whole night for being too loud during the movie. But we didn’t care!We were instantly intrigued and as we shared bucket list dreams, Jaryd began to think about how fun life with Madi would be.Jaryd texted Madi a “get home safe” message and from there the crushes were set!

Connecting!

As the Summer went on, Jaryd and Madi continued to get to know one another. We went on multiple double dates, played lots of pickleball, and had so much fun with all our friends. We went to Billy Bob's honkytonk and while two-stepping Jaryd asked Madi to go on our first official date. At the campus ministry ICMC conference we were totally smitten for one another. We had so much fun getting to chat for hours and worshipping together We continued to grow our feelings and learned more about one another. That Summer was full of fun, seeking advice, and Jaryd pursuing Madi in a very God-Centred way.

Summer Lovin- had us a blast!

On September 23, 2023 Jaryd planned a beautiful picnic, filled a basket with all of Madi's favorite snacks, and photos the two of us had taken throughout our summer together. He wrote scriptures on the back of each photo and wrote a beautiful card asking Madi to be his girlfriend. It was a beautiful moment, and then some of our best friends popped out to celebrate with us.

Officially Dating

Our dating experience was a beautiful gift from God. It was very clear that this relationship meant the world to both of us. Every day we were intentional in learning more about one another, creating memories, and sharing our relationship with our friends and family. Over the course of a year and a half we went on countless dates, spent time with many couples, played lots of board games, and travelled to many places with our friends in the church. There were hard conversations and many big life decisions that came up during our dating relationship. We are so thankful for God giving us those conversations and scenarios early in our relationship so that we could learn more about one another, navigate life decisions, seek a lot of advice, and overall feel confident in God's desire for us to create a life together. Our dating relationship was full of so much fun, and amazing memories that we are so excited to reflect on for the rest of our lives together!

A year and a half together

We are so grateful for all the love we have felt from our friends and family since being together. In the future we are so excited to honor God with our marriage and the life we build together. Thank you for being apart of our story and for witnessing our love. We are so honored to have you in our lives and for the ways you make us better for one another and for God.

My favorite memory was when Madi and I are were on our cruise to Mexico and we started a massive dance party on the outside deck next to the pool! It was such a blast, but I also love that we’ve been snorkeling with sharks, skiing , country dancing, and always celebrating new year's eve in a cabin together

The last few months of senior year at Coastal was my favorite memory/time of life with you! Just soaking up every single moment! Sorority dances, ceremonies, graduations, girls nights! We grew so close during that time and it was so difficult to graduate and not live near each other anymore, but this long distance friendship has definitely thrived!! So so thankful to have a friend like you

Madi and I have had so much crazy moments of just insane silly moments that really could have ruined our day but instead we would just laugh and find goodness in it. Also particularly loved seeing Noah Kahan in concert together.

 My favorite memory with Madi is being roommates for 3 years. When I look back on some of my favorite times at college its going into eachothers rooms and siting in our beds for hours talking, sitting on our balcony talking, driving around on adventures and getting to work together and be silly

I have so many favorite memories of Madi and me throughout our friendship, but one that is particularly special to me is our sorority big/little reveal night. To give some context, during that entire week, Madi—being the little spy that she is—was trying hard to figure out who her big was. Not only did she figure it out, but we also discovered that we had the same big, which made us twins in our sorority family. On the night of the reveal, she asked me to drive with her, and little did I know that this car ride would change my life forever. The moment I sat in her passenger seat, it felt like we had been best friends since childhood.

My favorite memory with you is definitely when you came to my house and we watched the live stream church sermon together. It was the first time I had actually followed a sermon start to finish since I was in catholic school. It really helped connect me back to my faith and I would’ve never probably had the strength to do it on my own. You helped me feel comfortable and heard and it’s a huge reason I am so strong in my faith today!

The Guys

My favorite memory with Jaryd was when he and I smoked a couple of briskets and made beef tallow for a Labor Day BBQ at the park by our house. We had just borrowed the church smoker and had only made one brisket together before that, but waking up with him at 4 am to tend the fire and prepare the meat, accompanied by some good vibes and conversation, stuck with me as a core memory of our friendship.

When Jaryd re-entered my life and we caught up on the years we missed out on. We just drove around and listened to each other sharing funny stories and jokes, we also bonded over loss and grief. I couldn’t be prouder of the man my little brother is becoming.

On an average day Jaryd and I would hang out, get something to eat or just drive around together. But in one snowy night Jaryd and I went to Chicken Express through the drive through, and we got stuck in the line for at least 3 hours! Unfortunately I had to pee badly and I saw a WhataBurger cup. After filling the cup I proceeded to spill some the pee in Jaryd’s back seat. We laughed and had a great time.

I would say my favorite memory with Jaryd would be the countless late night parked car convos. After carpooling to different events, we’d often sit for hours afterward, talking about spiritual truths, future dreams, and opening up about what was really going on in our lives. Those unplanned deep talks taught me the value of vulnerability and authentic friendship. Jaryd is the kind of guy who turns a regular ride home into something unforgettable.

The first time we met was back in high school, in our AP US History class. I saw this quiet guy sitting alone in the corner and thought, “He looks smart.” So I sat next to him, thinking I could cheat off him. Huge mistake - turns out we were both academically challenged. Somehow, we became really good friends.   Since then, we've shared tons of unforgettable memories, conversations, and laughs. Growing up alongside Jaryd has been a fun journey, and I'm grateful for every moment we've shared along the way!

I have known Jaryd for 10 years. One of my favorite nights, I had with him was linking up at 11:00pm one night as he was online playing video games. We ended up pulling an all nighter, hanging out and having a good time over a hobby we both enjoyed, something I’ll remember forever.”

Jaryd went out of his way to plan a birthday party for myself at his place. I don't know why he'd go out of his way for me like this, but it's a showcase of his character to always try to make his friends welcome and happy the best he could. I remember it was a day filled with us playing board games, and I think it was the introduction of us playing Quelf. Jaryd is a man that always tries to make everyone around him laugh with whatever he can use around him.

My favorite memory with Jaryd is when we didn’t die after hydroplaning off the freeway on the way to work (we used to work together at a restaurant). We did a whole 360 spin from the far left lane to the right side of the freeway. We had to sit there for a couple hours in the rain waiting for a tow truck but just laughed about everything afterwards. I might have been going a bit too fast
