There are many yummy places to go downtown all within walking distance of the hotels! Our favorite spot for brunch is the Charmant Hotel on State Street. Pickerman's Soup & Sandwich shop for a quick lunch. For a casual dinner we often go to Mexcal on main street, or Uno Venti Pizzeria on King Street. If you are looking to go out for a date night, we suggest trying the Freight House or Lovechild. Of course if you are anything like us and need a little sweet treat, you have to try The Peal for ice cream and candy!

If you're in the mood for a specialty cocktail and cool vibe, we suggest going to La Cave located in the basement of Le Chateau Restaurant. The Starlight lounge is a retro martini bar located in the heart of downtown. If you are looking for a more relaxed type bar to try Wisconsin's own Spotted Cow we suggest going to Bodega Brew Pub.

There is so much nature, running trails, and hiking trails in and around La Crosse to explore. Some of our favorite are walking along the Mississippi River and though Riverside park, located downtown. For a fun hike we like to go to the Lower Hixon Trailhead located on Highway 16.
